MEGAN MOORE

By the time I actually ate, I didn't have much time to get changed, I rushed towards the women's changing rooms flinging my blazer off as soon as I was through the door. I hated the fact that I wanted to look professional all the time, it wasn't just Ferrari that I did this for though. When I worked at Mercedes and McLaren, I was the same. As I pulled my clothes off I heard my phone ringing, I ignored it though knowing I was already on the verge of being late. As soon as I zipped up my overalls and pulled my shoes on, I left the changing rooms and headed towards the track.

"What happened to you at lunch?" Gianluca asked as I approached them.

I shrugged my shoulders, "I had to make a few phone calls."

"Homesick already?" Dino laughed as he put his headset on, adjusting the microphone.

"I don't know how I will get through the rest of the month being away from my friends," I said blankly. Sometimes when I was sarcastic, it came out in a really dry tone, this was one of those times.

Dino looked at me, he was confused, his eyebrows were furrowed together, and his lips were in a thin line. Sebastian nudged him in the side, "She's joking."

Smiling at Dino, I chuckled silently to myself before I walked away and towards the garage. I looked over at Sebastian, he was walking next to Dino who still looked puzzled as Sebastian spoke to him quietly. He glanced up at me, I gave him a wink before I picked up my helmet and slid it over my head.

"Come on then," I said at Gianluca, my voice was a little muffled by the helmet.

He put his headset on as he watched me climb in the car, "I thought we might want to plan your next move. If you want to get ahead of him, you are going to have to come up with a new plan."

I lifted my visor and made eye contact with Gianluca, "I think I have done most things already." I looked around, I needed some inspiration before I removed my helmet again, "Can you pass me that bottle of water?" I pointed to the bottle behind him on the side.

Gianluca grabbed it, he didn't ask any questions before I gulped it down. Then he took the empty plastic away from me and then he spoke, "What?"

I laughed before I put the helmet back on, "I have a theory. I just want to test it."

"As long as you know what you are doing," Gianluca said before he whipped the covers from the car wheels. I pressed on the wheel, and the engine started as I smiled to myself.

I was four laps in when Sebastian slipped past me on the track, to be fair I didn't even see him coming, I was just chilling as I drove along trying to warm up my tires. "What are you doing?" Gianluca asked in the headphones.

I ignored him as I continued to drive, my speed slowly increasing with each and every lap before I was about fifteen laps down and behind Sebastian. All I had to do was pass him, I watched as he kept checking his mirrors, moving his car from side to side before we approached the corner. I didn't try to overtake him here, I wanted to keep him guessing.

We rounded the track several more times before the water started to kick in, I squirmed in my seat as my body started to tell me I needed to go to the toilet. After a few more laps, I was feeling it more than ever, I straightened my arms as I squeezed my bladder before stepping on the gas, as the corner approached I went for the inside overtake. He sharply pulled in front of me just at the last second, making me have to back off just a little, gritting my teeth I growled as I continued to stay close to him.
