Pietro hadn't been to the tower much, only to visit his sister when she was staying there for longer missions or when the Compound was being remodeled. He preferred being out in upstate, where he could run and feel some wind on his face. The city was just too suffocating.

But, when push comes to shove, Pietro hated being alone more than he hated the city, so he made the drive into town whenever Wanda went to the Tower.

That's where he found himself one sunny Friday afternoon. The tower. Wanda's room, where he normally stayed, was tidy and full of books. Wanda loved to read anything she could get her hands on, but Pietro was more picky. He really only liked historical biographies, or sometimes a good sci-fi, but after years of torture, he was through with anything too dark.

The white-headed man was reclined on his sister's bed, his eyes drifting closed. It was a late Sunday afternoon, and warm sunshine was streaming through the window and heating Pietro's face.

Just as he was about to fall asleep, the door banged open and the young man shot up in panic. Expecting his sister, the man cursed loudly and spun around with a scowl on his face.

"Sorry." There was a small teen, just 16 if Pietro had to guess, standing in the doorway.

The man's eyes softened and he was quick to apologize. "No, sorry, I thought you were Wanda. I don't think we've met."

The teen perked up a little, and quickly stuck out a hand. "Peter."

"Pietro!" The two shook hands. "And how old are you, Peter?"

"15."

"Jeez," Pietro blanched slightly, shocked at how young this kid was. "How'd you end up here?"

"I'm Mr. Stark's personal assistant. I help in all the labs and stuff."

"You must be a genius, then."

Peter shrugged. "Not a genius, no. I'm really only good at a few things, like coding and stuff. Geniuses can do a whole bunch of different things."

Pietro furrowed his brow skeptically. "That's absolutely not true."

Again, Peter shrugged.

"Are you a superhero, too?" Pietro asked. Peter seemed to have a silent, internal struggle over what to say before nodding.

"Spiderman at your service. You're QuickSilver, right?"

Pietro smiled. "That's me! I had no idea how young Spiderman was. Not that its a bad thing, I just assumed he was in his 20's or something since he seemed so responsible and cool will getting shot and stuff."

"Yeah," Peter chuckled. "I find the less upset you are, the more angry criminals get."

Both boys broke into laughter, throwing their heads back and laughing until tears came to their eyes. It wasn't even that funny, they just started laughing and couldn't stop.

Finally, Pietro caught his breath and he watched Peter's giggles die away. "So. Why are you here on the weekend?"

"I stay at the Tower from Friday after school until Monday morning, when Happy drives me to school. That way I can help Mr. Stark during his strange lab hours, at like 2 am and stuff."

Pietro nodded. "Were you looking for Wanda?"

"I had a break from lab work and we usually play pranks together, so I was looking for her, yeah," the teen said awkwardly, running a hand over the back of his neck.

"I'll prank with you!" Pietro's face lit up with a grin, his eyes sparkling mischievously.

"Really?" Peter asked, and after Pietro nodded earnestly, he gave an enthusiastic whoop and began to explain some of his plans.

"Woah, you're a master at this!" Pietro exclaimed. Peter beamed at the praise, and the two quickly got to work.

Hours later, when all the pranks had been set, the two boys sat in the living room, waiting for everything to fall into place. Everyone was starting to gather into the general living space, waiting for food to be done.

"Someone want to help me with the salad?" Steve called over his shoulder.

"Sure," Sam said. "Just let me wash my hands."

At those words, the two boys perked up, craning their necks to get a look at the madness that was about to unfold.

Sam picked up a bar of soap, but it wouldn't lather. It was something Peter had been trying to create for a long time, but chemically manipulating soap, a foaming, lathering substance, to not foam or lather was more challenging than expected. Thankfully, Pietro had come up with the brilliant plan of covering the soap in clear nail polish instead, which was much easier.

Sam grunted in frustration as her ran the soap between his hands. "What the-"

The super hero furrowed his brow, and Bucky took notice of how long it was taking his friend to wash his hands. "What's happening over there?"

"The soap isn't... working?" Sam's statement became more of a question as he scrubbed his hands faster and faster.

"Soap can't just stop working," Bucky laughed, coming over to the sink. "Let me see it."

The man with the metal arm grabbed the soap and tried to lather his hands, but found that he was having the same issue.

"Huh," he said, frustration seeping into his voice.

"Try hot water," Steve said, a pot of pasta in his oven-mitt clad hands. The two superheros moved the tap over to hot and waited for a moment, but... nothing was coming out of the faucet.

There was a low rumbling, then everything got quiet again. Sam and Bucky bent down, each one getting as close to the faucet as possible.

Then, just as they were about to pull away, part of the faucet flew out of the sink's mounting and water splashed out, like a geyser, into their faces. Both men stumbled backwards and the rest of the family scrambled to help.

Natasha ran past the fridge, where Peter had placed a motion sensor camera, which triggered the ice chute to start throwing ice out. The assassin went sprawling into Steve, who had just set down the pasta. The blonde and the red head whirled around, tripping over Sam, who was bent over. The two went soaring into the pantry, which was rigged up in spider webbing and capturing them in a cocoon. Tony went to grab towels from the cabinet, only to have a cup of glitter that was placed on top of the door to fall and cover the billionaire.

Peter and Pietro couldn't help but burst into giggles, their peals of laughter echoing down the hall. Of course, it was at that point that Pepper and Wanda wandered in, their eyes sweeping over the scene.

All of the Avenger, or at least most of them, were in the kitchen, which was covered in water, glitter, spider webs, and ice. Peter and Pietro were rolling around on the living room rug, their bodies heaving with laughter.

"Pietro."

"Peter."

The two women started talking at the same time, looked at one another, and then laughed hysterically. The boys laughed even harder at that, causing the women to laugh harder as well.

The others looked between their teammates, confusion in their faces.

"Is anyone going to help me?" Tony asked finally, throwing his hands up in anger.

"Sorry, tin can," Pietro said after catching his breath. "That one was Peter's idea."

The teen had never bolted out of the room so fast before.
