Here I sit,
A long day,
Keeping my thoughts busy,
Those rocks curled around my fingers,
Only pretty sure,
My feet will stay sound thier spot,
Sick of getting stuck,
Part way up the rock,
It's only when I stop,
That I feel like my whole body,
Starts to rock,
I'll just take another reach,
Forget about the sinking,
That forever falling feeling,
That keeps me back,
Take a deep breath,
Swallow my hope,
That lump in my throat,
Let my head keep spinning,
Just another grip,
One more inch,
If I'ma climb,
Might as well climb high enough,
When I look down I know it's fear,
And the only real thing in my head,
Is somewhere over head,
Keep on climbing,
I won't give in,
Knowing that at some point,
There is no surviving the ground,
Can't tell if I'll slip,
Or my head will knock me down,
Knowing it's been done before.
