Isn't it funny how I got in the car to speed,
But the things I love keep remembering to put on cruise control,
Knowing I can't slow time down but oh how I try,
You can say that I'm a disappearing act,
You never know when I'm there or when I go.
Drive the car because I love all to much to disappear in the the background.
But it's not quite the same thrill stuck on cruise control,
Fighting the memory,
I keep thinking because thinking's easy.
If I remember right I cut the break awhile ago,
I've seen myself drive but I've never seen myself turn around,
Just to invite you in,
Don't you get it,
Cruise control works so well,
Sitting back to take notice,
To the only ones that filled my head,
Shouldn't be the only ones in the car,
Just in case maybe this one will scar,
Or by chance a shooting star.
