Timid steps,
But every moment with you I enjoy,
Knowing that sinners pay for their sins,
And you're still here,
And somehow I keep wondering,
How things are changing,
It makes me smile to realize,
All the ones we've taken.

Timid embraces,
And I guess I trust you, but I'm scared.
Still unsure coming out of the dark,
Strange how you believe you'll always love me,
I wish I'd admit it more,
That I think it too,
One way or another,
And I smile,
Knowing,
I'll love you.

Timid scars,
That like to hide under the fabric of everything else,
Wondering if they're all your fault,
Isn't funny how vibrantly they show,
Just below the skin,
I can still see the pain,
In my eyes.
Sad how that's the only thing I recognize in the mirror.
