REALM

Steve held Darla's hand tightly as they walked towards the Quantum Time machine. Everyone was wearing their quantum suits, they had been preparing for this. This was how they were going to get everyone back.

"Five years ago, we lost." Steve spoke up as he looked around at everyone. "All of us. We lost friends. We lost family."

Darla couldn't help but think about her family, Wanda, Bucky, Sam and Peter when Steve spoke. It brought a great sadness for the girl, which didn't go unnoticed by Steve.

Steve gave the girls hand a light squeeze before continuing,

"We lost a part of ourselves. Today, we have a chance to take it all back." Steve paused. "You know your teams, you know your missions. Get the stones, get them back. One round trip each."

Everyone placed their hands in the centre and it made Darla smile. These guys were her family. She couldn't imagine life without anyone of them. They were everything to her.

When she felt alone, they were there for her. When she felt like she couldn't trust anyone, they made her feel comfortable and at ease. When she had trouble with her powers, they helped her and gave her the support that she needed.

"No mistakes. No do-overs. Most of us are going somewhere we know. But it doesn't mean we should know what to expect."

Darla was thankful that she was going with Steve, but part of her was still anxious about the fact that she wasn't going with Briar. But she knew that he would be in safe hands with Natasha and Clint.

"Be careful." He looked around at everyone. "Look out for each other. This is the fight of our lives. And we're gonna win." Steve turned and looked at Tony. "Whatever it takes. Good luck."

"He's pretty good at that." Rocket announced as he referred to Steve's motivation speech.

"Right?" Scott nodded excitedly. Despite knowing Steve for years now, he was still a huge fan of Captain America and Darla found it adorable.

Darla softly chuckled and grabbed Briar's hand, gaining his attention. She pulled away from Steve and pulled her older brother in for a tight hug.

"You promise me that you'll be careful?" Darla whispered into his ear. Briar nodded and wrapped his arms around his sisters waist, holding her as tight as possible.

"I promise, plus I have a trained assassin and an archer looking out for me." Briar chuckled, his eyes flickering over to his girlfriend who was nervously smiling at the Dyer siblings. "I love you, D."

"I love you too, B." Darla smiled at the man and pulled away, going to stand beside Steve once again.

Steve placed his hand on the small of the girls back, causing her to smile in response. At any sort of small touch she couldn't help but smile and feel comforted. She loved that man and he brought her so much happiness.

"All right. You heard the man. Stroke those keys, jolly green." Tony spoke up, his hand clamped down on Darla's shoulder and gave her a reassuring smile.

She knew that she had to remain optimistic. For the first time in five years, Darla closed her eyes and allowed the voices to turn back on. She needed to know that everyone would be okay. She needed to know peoples next moves.

"Tractors engaged." Bruce announced.

Clint opened up his hand and looked down at the shrunken Benares in his hand.

"You promise to bring that back in one piece, right?" Rocket questioned anxiously.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. I'll do my best." Clint nervously smiled back and Darla had to bite her bottom lip to prevent herself from laughing.

"As promises go, that was pretty lame." Rocket shrugged, crossing his arms and looking around at the others.

Darla looked across at Natasha, who had a playful grin on her face. This was their chance to get everyone back. There was no way in hell that they weren't going to be slightly optimistic.

"See you in a minute." Natasha smiled as she looked between Darla and Steve.

Darla smiled back at the girl, she turned to face Steve and nodded her head. She loved him and she wanted him to know that.

Steve nodded back, telling the blonde that he understood what she was saying. He smiled at her as their helmets all make their way onto their heads.

Darla let go of a shaky breath and remembered that she was going this for the greater good and that all would be okay.

The Quantum Realm opened and the group all split into different time intervals, all heading to different places.
