It was around 11am when I got back to the farm, part of me wanted to gush to Mae about what happened. But I knew she was working right about now. Every time I thought about her working at Joja my heart sank, her fiery spirit shouldn't be chained down to a place like that.

I shook away the depressing thoughts and grabbed my usual farm tools. I planted a few extra seeds I had and watered my crops. I went inside and Arson greeted me by rubbing on my leg. "Hey little man." I giggled as I heard him purr while I pet him.

"Alright, what should I wear?" I asked the cat, but of course he wouldn't respond. "No need to be rude." I joked to myself before grabbing some clothes from the closet. I went with a pink theme, putting on a pink buttoned sweater and then just a pair of normal ripped jeans. With the clothes picked out I took a quick shower to get the mud off of me. When I got out I tucked the sweater into the jeans and slipped on my shoes before leaving.

It had been about 2 hours, a little more. I made my way back to Sam's house and I couldn't help but start smiling thinking about hanging out again. Even though I had just seen him a couple hours ago, hanging out with him felt really nice.

I knocked on the door a couple of times and waited patiently for him to answer. Similar to last time, I heard a bunch of mumbling of multiple peoples voices. Maybe he had some other friends over too. I waited there for a minute before the door opened. Sam seemed to be trying to block my view of whatever was behind him, but I saw Sebastian's head jump up from behind him.

"Oh?" I questioned with a laugh. "Uh don't mind him, he was just leaving." Sam forcefully pushed Sebastian out of the door and passed me. "Alright lover boy, I'll leave you two love birds alone~" he teased, which seemed out of character for him, but I mean I barely know the guy.

Sam turned around quickly and was clearly flustered. I let out an awkward laugh and just followed him into the house.

Before I knew it, Vincent ran over and tried to tackle-hug me. It almost worked, but I held my ground. "Hey lil dude, whats up? Ready to bake the best cake ever?" I asked, putting on my sweet voice. "Yup!" he cheered as he grabbed my hand to lead me into the kitchen. All of the supplies were set up and there was even a stepping stool for Vincent at the counter. "Was it hard finding a melon?" I turned and asked Sam who still seemed a bit off. "N-not really." he stuttered as he gave me the bland statement.

"Well I'm glad then." I patted him on the back to try and ease his nerves.

"Anyways! Let's get to baking. Are we making a normal pink cake? Or are we gonna add a bit of pizzazz to it?" I questioned the two boys while I rolled up my sleeves and washed my hands. "I'm not that great at baking so I have no clue, just put whatever you think will make it taste good." Sam said with a shrug, seemingly going back to normal.

"Hmmm alright, I normally add a bit of extra vanilla and melon to enhance the flavor." I responded. Pink cake was a common thing to bake, a delicious and sweet melon flavored cake was a staple in any community.

Vincent washed his hands as well and stood on his stool so he would have more leverage on the counter. Sam washed his hands, but stayed off to the side. He simply watched me and Vincent start mixing the ingredients together. He had a soft smile on his face while he watched and knowing his attention was on me, I couldn't help but feel a bit nervous.

"Sure you don't want to help?" I asked with a slight tilt to my head. "Nah, I'm not a great baker. Plus I don't really like Haley so..." He trailed off at the end and I chose to not push the subject. Although, I was quite curious about the bad blood between him and Haley. Maybe it's a similar reason towards my dislike of her.
