Poem #59: Melody

Scattered papers and books on the floor
Holding on a pen while writing my last verse
A song about how we deserved more
A break-up we never wanted, I shouted and curse

Your delicate smile which usually crossed in my mind
Suddenly vanished, now replaced with a frown
Looking for the person I loved, yet I couldn't find
Your sincere love as our world turned upside-down

I miss the sudden burst of excitement
The melody we danced to cheerfully
Breaking through silence, with words never meant
Our love story slowly transitioned into a tragedy

Has love gone too sweet?
Did crumbling bitterness took over?
Not anymore, your words don't make my heart beat
I guess this song filled with romance doesn't repeat forever
