Poem#43: Reality Against Dreams

Suddenly woke up from this dull morning
Holding hands in this fairylike dream
Butterflies of spring flying in this new beginning
Sweet as red velvet cake decorated with whipped cream

This fantasy has been repeating itself
Still reality's been harsh, until you came
Trusting this repeating dream in myself
Maybe it's with you, it'll never be the same

Self denial from these feelings, could I let go?
Can't understand this vague yet blissful imagination
If I haven't told you, will you ever know? Complicated like a mathematical equation

Sight darkens, transforms into a nightmare
I could've lied, drowned into tears of guilt
Sacrificed own pride for the person I care
Burden by my own words, didn't know what I felt

Left vicious scars on this beating heart
Made from this broken shards of phrases
Never realized this kindness has ripped apart
Now this figure hides in a mask of different faces

Trapped in a curse, soar with wings yet fell
Puffy clouds became tumult with flashes of lightning
Emphatic angel suffered, surrounded by hell
Became someone unrecognizable, sees bitterness in everything
