Poem#24: Butterfly Fragility

Don't think or say anything
Just smile for me
For your smile can fix everything
Everyday, it's you I wanted to see

Everything still seems like a dream
I'm still scared of losing you
The very thought of you helps me redeem
It still feels unbelievably true

Please don't disappear
Will you stay by side?
It's your absence of presence that I fear
Through the bumps and curves of this ride

Will you promise me?
I'm scared that you'll fly away
If I let go, I'll break, secretly
It's my hidden fear everyday

Will time stop after this moment?
Though that moment hasn't even happened
What I'll say are the words I really meant
I cannot stay away from this, I cannot pretend

The butterfly effect
Wings patterned beautifully
Yet as fragile as how it gets
When will I understand you truly?

You're here for some reason
Stealing glances from afar
But how could I adjust if you're gone?
Would I lose you, when we're apart?

For the wind that guides
We'll learn soon, whether this is true
I'll let go of my hand, I'll not hide
Not knowing if it's real or a dream to you

Butterfly, just remember
Being a flower among the flowers you'll pick
Whether or not we'll stay together
In this garden, soar above thorns that might prick
