Poem#5: Fireworks

A few minutes away from the end
A new beginning just minutes away
There will soon be a spectacular sighting
Up above the starry night

I step out of the window
Letting the cold wind blow
And the stars give out a sparkle
Just before something remarkable

I closed my eyes
Giving myself into the cool air
And just so you know it
It started

Fireworks flying towards the air
Just like rockets flying into outer space
And sparkled like shooting stars
I thought it was going to last forever

Just like his love
It was exciting, surprising
Colorful in its way
Emotional and unforgettable

That's when I thought it was going to last
Just when you wanted more of it
It just suddenly disappears
As if it never happened

And even though you wanted it to last
Even though you wanted it to stay
In the end, you'll be left
Gazing into the midnight sky

You look for the light
That was once happy and bright
But all that's left is darkness
And unnerving silence everywhere

All by myself
And that irritating background music
