Poem #65: Saying Goodbye

I gave out one last sigh
For one last time, I smile
As your eyes met mine
For a chance to reconcile

I knew that there was never an "us"
Since you never took any interest in me
Still, I gave you all of courage and trust One-sided love is all it ever will be

This is me, saying one last goodbye
Please, let me heal through time
After all, I'm still hurt with your white lies
How I pretended that I'm just fine

I wished you'd say sorry
For being the cause of my downfall
In this reluctant and hopeless story
With memories I don't want to recall

As expected, you would never care
And I should now from you
For the love I long may be rare
However, I wish for a love that's true
