Why is life so complicated?

"Carmella, get you ass in the water!" Ocean hollers.
"I'm coming, just give me a second." I get up from my beach towel and walk down to the water.
"Miss me?" Royal whispers in my ear before picking me up.
"Royal! Put me down!" He puts me over his shoulder so that I'm looking at his back.
"I think I'm good." I hear him laugh.
"Plug your nose." He says before jumping off the dock. By the time I break the water Royal already has.
"Enfermo hijo de puta, podrías haberme matado."
"Apple I have no clue what you just said."
"I said you sick son of a bitch you could have killed me."
"Ah and yet you're alive and breathing quite well. Can you imagine that?"
"I don't find you funny." I say swimming to Clara and my friends.
"You don't need to, I think I'm funny."
"You keep talking like that your ego won't be able to fit through the door."
"My ego is not that big."
"Pretty big."
"That's what she said."
"God, what are you, a twelve year old boy?"
"Always a possibility."
"You guys are so cute." Eden exclaims.
"You must be seeing stuff again mi amor."
"I am not, you guys see it too, right?"
"Totally."
"Absolutely you guys are freaking adorable." Rena coos.
"Yeah you guys are like the next Brady and McKenzie." E chimes.
"You do realize they were teenagers." I says
"Well an older version then."
"They also got whisked away to an alternate dimension. And almost got killed by some old creeps who were trying to start a massive storm."
"I didn't mean it like that, I meant the part that was like summer romance."
"At the end of movie two they completely forget who each other are and have to remeet and forget all past memories."
"No stop, you took me too literal."
"I'm just stating what you said."
We swam for a good two hours then we all went into my house to eat lunch, including Royal.
"I'm going to take a shower, you guys behave, don't go all mama bear mode on him."
