King Romulus' POV

Alpha King Romulus Tirean had stood at the center of the room and taken a judgemental gaze over the six males who were standing at attention. Two of which he was familiar with, it was the other four that were strangers.

And this was not the arrival he was prepared for at all.

"I appreciate that you four could come at such—"
"Why were we not called earlier?" Romulus had eyed the male who spoke up before he had the chance to fully explain things, so the King thought it best to hear it from someone else, as he turned to both Clive and Ray. "Dane...Things were trouble as is, we needed to be cautious." The boy offered, but that did nothing but break the formed line as Dane confronted Clive.

"We trusted you with her! Cautious my arse, you both knew well what was going to happen or could have!" Dane did not allow excuses from either Clive or Ray.

And Hawes had only grunted in agreement to the statement.

"A-and Rhea? How is she now?" Gilroy asked, attempting to cut in to balance what truly was at risk here. And that was Rhea—The female they promised to care for and protect until they no longer could.

"She is responsive, come yesterday and this morning. But she sleeps too much for my comfort. I asked you here because I think it would benefit her, make her feel safe...Something I can't provide at the moment." It was an honest bit of truth, one that Dane could understand as he too couldn't find the ability to comfort Rhea during her time in Red Moon.

Adapting to what followed after the Rogue camp hadn't been the issue, it was when things were finally slowing down that trapped her into remembering.

"It would be a nice distraction, and I did want to meet you in the coming days before the wedding." Now that had caused the four males to flinch before the three others had turned to Dane.

As they knew he was about to speak against the idea of their union.

"You proposed?" He huffed, and Romulus nodded. "We've discussed it in depth. Rhea had gained a few favors and planned to use them in order to get the courts to agree with the union." It had been a brash overview of what had happened, but Romulus wasn't about to out himself at Rhea calling him out just yesterday about not proposing properly.

Then again, he couldn't think of a single wolf-mated couple that waited more than an accounted few hours before coming together to confirm the bond. At best a couple of days, but not weeks.

Romulus was starting to wonder how in the hell he's managed thus far, but the urge had lessened since he had given her a few gulps of his blood. It transcended more than he had ever thought possible, and he wasn't sure if she could use a bit more now that she was showing signs of consciousness.

How would he even begin addressing the concept of blood when he hardly managed to tell her the truth about being—

Being so lost in thought, Romulus had arrived at the guarded double doors and ducked inside once they had been opened for him. He greeted the familiar males with a small nod before the room had cleared away.

"Are they always in here?" Gilroy asked, and Clive nodded up to the taller male. "Rhea was kidnapped from her room, it's just a precaution." He instated, and Dane snorted as he took to heading towards the privacy divider. "Spoken like a little Advisor."

"Not yet, Dane. But soon. Remember? I told you about Willow helping me get my marks up." At the mere mention of the female, the smiles had filtered through all of Rhea's males as they continued off toward the bed.
