Chapter 1: Dark and Bright Hues

I woke up to the quarrelling noise outside the room where I’m currently at.

Looking at the band posters plastered at the walls, I immediately figured that I’m at Lauren’s room. Now my parents can clearly see the evidence that I really used violence again that stupid fuck.

The clock inside Lauren’s room says it’s already 12:40 pm; thankfully, it looks like I’m not the only one who woke up late.

As usual, Lauren’s causing more harm than good with the meal preparation.

It’s still a great mystery on how they lasted for a month here at EJ’s condo.

“Whoah, calm down, EJ.”

I gasped when she took the knife away from Lauren and stabbed it right at the innocent chopping board.

“Let’s just stay at the couch, L. Okay? Baka wala pa tayong makain. I’ll help her in your place.” I said as I shoved her to the coach.

The demonic woman then pouted.

“Ako na nga ‘tong nagmamagandang loob, tch!” Lauren complained.

“Nagmamagandang loob?

“Should I just leave you guys here? Ayaw kong maging prime witness ng isang committed crime.” I directly asked.

“Can’t imagine myself living with you guys only to watch you bicker...” I added as I reached for the plates and utensils. “Sorry about that, Vanessa. Si Estelle Jomillee kasi...” Lauren whispered the last part as she hugged me from behind.

“You know I still heard you, right?”

Estelle hissed and I could only shake my head because of them.

Not long after, we finally had a stress-free lunch. I couldn’t help myself from taking glances on my phone’s screen.

Man, I don’t want to be at home.

It’s Sunday, there’s a huge possibility that both of them will also be staying at home for the whole day.

“Sino nag drive?” I questioned her back.

Wala na kasi akong narinig pa tungkol sa kung ano ang mga nangyari after we left the club last night. “Just one of the dudes that kept tabs on you last night.” She answered and I could only nod.

God, I even forgot to thank those two.

“Do you have his number? Mukha naman kayong close, I just want to thank him.” My eyebrow rose when Estelle chuckled. “Didn’t expect you to be like that.” She said, making me arch my brow. “Like what?” I dully retorted. “Like a mabait person?” Lauren intervenes, making me roll my eyes. “I know when to say thank you and apologize.”
