Chapter 3: Dive and Drown

My head was throbbing when I woke up due to someone’s screeching voice outside the tent I occupied with Andy. Nang lumabas ako sa tent ay halos kalalabas din lang ni Estelle at Jexter sa tent nila, pati na rin sila Travis at Reilynne na may sarili rin na tent.

“What was that?”

Andy asked with half-closed eyes.

“Si Lauren ata...” I murmured and looked at the other tents.

Halos sabay-sabay naman kaming mga napaigtad dahil halos masira na ang isang tent dahil sa pagmamadaling makalabas nila Lauren, Kyle at Nexon. “Ano ba’ng nangyayari sa inyo?” Dwight asked who came from behind Andy and I dahil nasa dulo ang tent nila ni Josef at Timothy.

“May palaka sa loob!”

Kyle shouted as he gets up from the ground after being poorly shoved by his cousins.

“Thanks for the morning entertainment...”

Josef said with a yawn.

“Sino ba kasi yung huling pumasok? Hindi man lang sinarado yung tent!” Reklamo ni Nexon na nakikipag sikuhan sa mga kasama niya sa tent. Jexter and Estelle both have their phones up, recording the three people who looks so horrified.

“Blame it on Travis, Timothy and Dwight.”

Reilynne chuckled, maging si Andy ay napatawa rin dahil sa naging kaganapan kagabi.

Lauren, Kyle and Nexon were all too drunk last night dahil na rin sa mga pa-games nilang tatlo mismo. Siguro, dahil sa kapagurang alalayan at asikasuhin isa-isa ang tatlo, at dahil na rin sa kadahilanang mga nakainom na rin sila, ay hindi na nila napansing hindi nila naisara ang tent nila Lauren.

I remember every bit of chaos from last night.

Estelle’s high alcohol tolerance, Jexter being clingy, Travis blushing because of Rei’s shenanigans, on how much Lauren, Sef, and Andy makes a disastrous trio; to witnessing Dwight having a “dad-jokes” contest with Tim because all of their jokes were too corny to laugh at, and to have everyone make sure that Kyle won’t get anywhere near Nexon.

“Kingina, akala ko magiging Disney princess ako kasi halos makahalikan ko na yung palaka.” Lauren cried as she reached Estelle for a hug, parang batang nagsusumbong.

I couldn’t help but to slightly smile after seeing Kyle shiver due to terror that greeted him early in the morning as he stares into complete nothing. Si Nexon naman ay napabuga ng hininga na tila ba ninerbyos talaga dahil sa nangyaring kaguluhan.

After the effective wake-up call, everyone already took turns from preparing their selves and from preparing the equipments and stuffs that we’ll be taking to the site near the waterfalls. We’ll be spending our five remaining hours in there as what I have heard from Timothy.

Hindi rin nagtagal ay nagtungo na kami sa trail papunta sa waterfalls.

Lauren was clinging to my arm kahit pa bitbit ko ang basket na pinaglalagyan ng mga disposable plates, cups and utensils. It’s no longer her birthday, meaning I can easily shove her away but I chose not to. Mukhang inaantok pa siya at parang malala talaga ang hang over niya.

When we arrived at the falls, most of the gang hurried from eating their breakfast before busying their selves from taking pictures or looking around the site. Minadali rin nila kami ni Estelle at Travis sa paglilikom ng mga pinag kainan at pinag lutuan dahil naka ready na raw ang tripod para sa group photo namin.

I stood beside Reilynne, dahil ang utos nila ay sa harap daw kaming mga hindi katangkaran.

“Eh bakit wala sa harap si Kyle?”
