Mom was painting in the basement with me watching as Jim was in the kitchen.
"Mom, I packed you a lunch!" Jim shouted, his voice sounding different.
"Down here, honey!" Mom replied.
"So, what do you think? I call it: Goodbye, Walt." She stated, asking Jim and I for our opinions.
"Sadly, it bares a striking resemblance." I replied.
"You warned me he was bad news, but I didn't listen. Then he vanishes without a goodbye. What kind of man does that?" She asked, turning to look at us as I stood, adjusting my bag.
"Hence the horns. They're symbolic." Mom explained.
"Wow, Mom. Quite the imagination." Jim stated, his voice sounding really different.
I raised a brow at him.
"Oh, thank you, sweetie." Mom said tiredly.
"First your father and now him." She went on.
I cleared my throat.
"We best get going before we're late." I said, walking up the stairs, making mom nod as I put on my headphones.

We got to school and I was looking around the area, sighing.
I didn't feel like being here.
I didn't feel... right being here.
I should be out there, finding a way to get Draal back.
I sighed, getting ready for gym.
I got changed and we met out in the field.
I was the first to start running, keeping the same pace, never stopping.
I was too lost in thought to count how many laps I've done.
I didn't know what lap I was on.
Sighing, I kept recounting the events that had happened.
It sucked.
Coach then started running around.
"Oh, you wanna text and run? How's this for a status update?" He asked, throwing the kids phone.
It went pretty far... really far.
He then ran next to pepperjack.
"What the? That's your best?" He asked.
"I'm doing the best I can, sir." Eli replied.
"Let me ask you. How have you not been eaten by a hawk with those embryonic little legs? Oh, look out. Run, little worm, run!" He shouted.
I rolled my eyes, still running as Coach came up to me, everyone stopping to see what was going on.
He ran next to me, watching me.
I rolled my eyes, picking up the speed to get away from him.
"Cut him some slack." I heard Steve say.
This caught Coach's attention.
I ran over to Jim, stopping next to him.
"Tobes, maybe there was something in his coffee." Jim stated.
I sighed.
"You brought Grave Sand to school, didn't you?" I asked.
He nodded.

I waited outside the boys locker room after getting changed.
The boys ran out, Jim grabbing my arm and dragging him with me.
I sighed when they all pushed the door closed, me leaning against the wall next of them.
"So, the Grave Sand was in a coffee can... Coach made coffee with it because you grabbed the wrong one... Now he's acting like a troll. Way to go, Jim. Told you training with Strickler was a terrible idea." I stated.
"Do you really want to do this now?" Jim asked.
"I mean, yeah. Now's a great time." I said as Coach banged on the door.
I sighed.
"Did anyone else drink the coffee?" I asked just as Darcy was talking to Toby.
"Senor Uhl went totally loco." I heard, making me sigh.
"I'll take that as a yes." I stated, rolling my eyes.
The bell then rang and I sighed as Eli, Jim, and Steve kept the door closed.

Soon enough the students were out and Toby and Eli closed the gate.
Eli and Toby then met back up with us.
"All right, the kids are gone. That leaves the teachers." Jim stated.
"We better hurry before they get stuck in beast mode forever." Steve stated.
We then heard the intercom.
"You've been a bad student, Young Atlas. Young Athena." Stricklers voice stated.
I growled, my wings popping out as my eyes glowed.
Eli backed up as Jim placed a hand on my shoulder, bringing me back.
"Why don't you go home early?" Jim asked, making me growl.
"As if. I'm going to put Strickler in the ground." I stated, heading to the Principals office.
"Uh, why do I get the feeling she has a pretty good reason to not like Strickler?" Eli asked.
"Long story. Skylar, you need to go home. We have this handled." Jim ordered.
I scoffed, turning to look at him.
"Fine, I'll go home." I growled, opening my wings and flying to the doors.
I landed, walking out as my wings disappeared.

I walked in the house and headed downstairs, seeing mom painting.
"Hey, what are you doing home?" She asked, turning to see me.
"School was let out early, Jim decided to do some boy stuff with Toby." I replied, sitting on the steps.
She nodded.
"You've been quiter than usual." She stated.
"Yeah. I know." I replied, shrugging.
"Have you been talking to Draal?" She asked.
I froze, swallowing thickly.
"He... um... he moved." I replied.
"Oh, is he coming back?" She asked, looking at me.
I shrugged, tears coming to my eyes.
"I don't know." I said, my voice breaking a bit.
She stopped what she was doing and walked over to me.
She sat down on the steps, pulling me into her, running her hand through my hair.
"It's alright. Let it out." She whispered as I started crying.
