Hello everyone. To all readers, whether you are new to my story or rereading, I'd like to say, welcome? Ahahaha, it's the author vinet here and umm, just wanted to say that it's been a near 4 years since I started this story and nearly 2 years since I concluded it.
Wow, where do I begin? It's probably weird to publish this as the first thing new readers will read instead of the first chapter but I figure it's best that I put a disclaimer (even though I'm like 4 years late) because let's just say, the 2022 Winter Olympics happened and a minor spoiler here, there will be some events taking place during the 2022 Winter Olympics and everything between 2018-2022.
Anyways, let's just get the disclaimer out of the way. This story is completely fiction, it was written way back in 2018, not long after the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics and when my admiration for Yuzu first started. None of the characters in this story is a direct portray of how they are in real life and I hope that you do not think that they are how I describe them in the story.
Aside from that, another big elephant in the room is that, yes, as mentioned, this story takes place between 2018-2022 and as you can tell, we are still under a pandemic which clearly is not the case in this story. As much as I try to make my stories as "realistically" as possible, obviously, it is still fiction and nothing that happen in the story actually happened (as much as I wanted Yuzu to land the quaxel, that jump is a beast).
Kay, I'm done with all the disclaimers (I think, I hope). ANYWAYS...
4 years, can't believe that it's been that long already. I just want to say thank you to both new readers and readers who kept coming back to reread this story, it means a lot since this "book", still feels unreal saying it, is one of the ones that boost my confidence in writing. And while I don't really write about figure skating anymore (I do write it from time to time I guess, on my Tumblr), nor is this story my "best" work, it still has a place in my heart.
I'm not going to discuss about what happened or what is happening in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics but all I can say that Yuzu has nothing left to proof. He didn't need to win the Olympics and that he just wants to push himself. So, while I am slightly bummed about him not being at the podium, I'm happy that he was able to go and beyond trying the quaxel on Olympic ice. That itself is already beyond what current skaters are doing. So, don't be sad about what happened, let's just be happy for Yuzu <3
