Grand Prix Experience and Back to Uni

The next day was the day of the men's FS and just like the other day, me and the boys went to practise early in the morning this time. We left like around 8.30 and arrived at 9am. We were lucky because we went early because there's hardly any media people. We then made our way backstage and I helped the boys train once again until it's finally time for their group to skate. 6 minute warm up passed by quite fast and not long after it was all of the boy's turn to skate. First out of the cricket club member was Jason Brown which he skated amazing. Then it was Jun's turn which unfortunately, he fell on his 4S and his 4T-3T was a slight UR (under-rotation). After that was Boyang; he then landed his 4Lz+3T combo which I haven't seen in a long time and in the end he got a seasons best and was in first place. Last but not least was the king himself, Yuzu. Yuzu then proceed his to his starting pose and then started his FS. Honestly, I was shock to see him do a 4A right at the beginning even though it's not my first time seeing it. Then was his 4Lo, which he barely landed. And combination spin. (Time skip after the FS) Once Yuzu was at his final pose, the pooh shower came; which honestly was an amazing sight to see. Not long after he bowed to everyone, he made his way back to us and hugged all of his coaches while I handed him his jacket. Right when I handed him his jacket, he put a small pooh bear and flower under the jacket which I took it.

I then waited near the curtains that would lead backstage. When the scores came out, everyone went crazy because Yuzu got a season's best and made a new world record which brings Yuzu to 1st place, Boyang rose to 2nd, and Jason Brown at 3rd place. Unfortunately, Jun was in 4th but then again it was impossible for the 4 of them to be on a podium. Yuzu then went on to some interviews and when they announced that it was almost time for the medal ceremony, Yuzu then handed me his jacket and pooh bear and told me to go backstage. Thankfully, no one paid that much attention to me because all eyes were on Yuzu. After podium was over, the 3 of them went on for some more interviews while me and Jun get ready and tidied their stuff. After everything was over, we then head back to our hotel.

(Time skip after the whole grand prix event including grand prix final)

The whole grand prix event was such a privilege. Not only was I able to be Yuzu and Boyang's translator + assistant, I was able to meet with lots of different skaters from different parts of the world and even pick up some of their language. Like learning a bit of Russian from hanging out with Evgenia, Alina, and Alena. A bit of French from Vanessa, Morgan, Gabrielle, and Guillaume. After Grand Prix Helsinki, unfortunately, each of the TCC parted. Yuzu and Jun was assigned to NHK, Boyang to IDF with Jason, and Evgenia to Cup of Russia. Thankfully, everyone of them were eligible to join grand prix final.

At Grand Prix final, for the men's, it was Yuzu, Shoma, Nathan, Boyang, Jason, and Jun. While ladies were Evgenia, Rika, Alena, Kaori, Elizaveta, and Alexandra Trusova. Man, was the Grand Prix Final was very heated. In the end of the competition, Yuzu took back his grand prix final title, Nathan came in 2nd, and Boyang came in 3rd. For the ladies, Rika took her title back once again, Elizaveta came in 2nd, and finally Alena came in 3rd. We also celebrate Yuzu's birthday right after grand prix final. Because I didn't know what to get him since he pretty much has everything, I decided to make him some cake with mochi and macaron on top which luckily he liked it. After grand prix finals was nationals. I first joined Boyang for his nationals then went to Yuzu's nationals. Nationals was over and so was my time with the cricket club. Can't believe time went by so fast, and it was time for me to go back home for Christmas and New Years. The day I had to leave, apparently, Yuzu went with me which I told him he didn't have to since I was afraid that he might get caught and will cause some casualties.

"You know, you really didn't have to come all the way here just to send me off" I said, pulling my suitcase

"I wanted to. Plus, it's quite early in the morning so no one will technically pay that much attention. Also, your parents will kill me if they found out that you went to the airport all on your own" Yuzu said, putting his hand in the pocket of his pants
