Tay was with Maddie when Maddie got news that Coach Harlan's dad was in the hospital. They went to the hospital and saw Cal, Isaac, Ronnie, and Eric with him. Trotter walked over to Harlan.

"Harlan, I'm so sorry, my friend." Trotter shook his hand.

"We are praying for your whole family. What can we do?" Maddie asked

"Y'all just being here means the world to me." Harlan told them.

"Power of the basketball group text." Isaac tried to lighten the mood.

"Cheaper than a bat signal." Cal said

"Thanks for the text." Dana Sue walked in grabbing Ronnie's hand.

"Harlan, you let us know what you and your family need, please."

"Thank you, Dana Sue, but I'm worried Serenity will Grind to a halt with all y'all here."

"In a minute, I am gonna arm wrestle Isaac to see who needs to leave and open Sullivan's."

"Oh, I can go, Chef. You know, since I... don't wanna hurt you." Isaac flexed his muscle.

"Hey, everybody." Dr. Howie walked in:

"Oh. Harlan." Howie pulled Harlan to the side.

"We should send lunch over to the house, Chef. Dinner too."

"Absolutely." Dana Sue when Helen walked in.

"Helen. Hi. Harlan's over there with Howie." Trotter told Helen.

"Did you text Helen?" Maddie asked Cal.

"I did." Dana Sue whispered as Harlan came back over.

"Helen. Dad has a stroke." Harlan rubbed the side of his arms.

"Harlan, I am so sorry." Helen patted his shoulder.

"Mr. Bixby currently has some paralysis on the right side. We still have tests to run. We'll know more in the next few days." Howie told them.

"Maybe he'll come home in a wheelchair, but he'll come home. And I'm not gonna ask God for anything more right now." Harlan said

"This room is filled with people ready to help your family, Harlan. Lean on all of us." Trotter told him.

"Yeah, after I see dad. Not... not to be rude." Harlan said and Helen shook her head.

"Go. We'll wait. Take your time." Cal told him and he walked away with Howie.

Isaac walked over to Helen and talked to her.

"Morning, Helen." Maddie said when Helen looked over at them.

"Maddie. Dana Sue. Gentlemen. Tay." Helen smiled at Tay, and Tay just gave her a curt nod.

"How can we all come together to help the bixbys?" Erik asked

"I should call Skeeter. Sounds like Mr. Bixby's gonna need a ramp." Ronnie spoke.

"Yeah, they could need a lot more. Anyone familiar with the house?"

"It's old. Two stories. I think most of the bedrooms are upstairs." Cal said

"So it'll be an expensive road." Trotter said

"Someone should check with the booster club at the high school."

I'll talk to the pastor at the Bixbys' church." Isaac said

"Perhaps the foundation can be of help." Helen spoke quietly.

"That's a wonderful idea. Isn't it, Dana Sue." Maddie told her.
