Kim and I talked more that night and here we are November 20th, a month and ten days since we found little Harper, we signed lots of paperwork and a social worker just exited our house after asking tons of questions and inspecting our house, she gave us the all clear, now the only thing to do is buy another cot, some girl clothes and other girly things and wait for her to be officially ours.
"I can't wait to have her here" "Me too doll" "Can we buy the things now online?" "Absolutely!" I move her to sit on my lap and grab my laptop and turn it on...let the search begin!
We selected a bunch of clothes, pacifiers, bins and other things, we are going to buy them once we know the date of our hearing so we'll know for sure what size to get.

While for the crib we chose a simple white crib, with little flowered painted on it, we bought a few sheets for it and blankets, all from the same store and those will be arriving next week.
"Do you want to tell our friends about this?" I ask Kim "Mhm...as much as our friends are important to us I would like to keep this a secret until we have her here and surprise them" "Ok, although we should call our parents and let them know everything went good today" "Let's call them!"

"Doll!" I say as I walk into our living room. She's sitting on the couch, feeding Wyatt and watching Nico play with his blocks "What?" "December 18th" "What?" "Our hearing, then Harper is ours!" I say kneeling in front of her "Really?" She asks a tear running down her cheek "Really..." I softly whisper, crying myself, as I lean in to kiss her lips "I'm so happy" "She'll be here for Christmas" "She's gonna be so loved by everyone" "She already is doll..." And that's the truth, our parents are thrilled to have a granddaughter, and I bet they can't wait to snuggle up with her, spend Christmas with us and their three grandchildren!
