It's Christmas Day today, we just had lunch with our family at our house. Both moms brought something to eat and the rest it was Kim and I cooking. For the past half and hour I've been cleaning the kitchen with my mom and mother in law help as Kim, Anthony and Mark are in our living room playing with the kids. I feel an arm going around my waist and I look down to see my mom "I'm proud of you" "I learned from the very best" I tell her kissing her head and she kisses my cheek "You have a wonderful family" "I know, and I love them so much" "They know it" she says looking at me as I look at my wife and three children.
Once everything was cleaned we sat in the living room and exchanged gifts. The kids were first, Nico being the only one to actually open his gift in his own. "Do you like it bud?" Kim asks "Ya!" "Say thank you to nana and pop-pop" she says as she stand him up and watch him go hug her parents "You're welcome" Linda says He sits back down and start to play with his first Lego blocks set, of course the bigger ones so he won't be able to ingest them. Next it's Wyatt and Harper turn, I open Harper's while Kim lets Wyatt try to unwrap his. Harper has a couple of new onesies and a really cute warm sweater and a plushie while Wyatt has a baby walker and a new blanket with Dino's on it.
Kim gifted me a beautiful and simple black watch and a nice sweater with 'best daddy in the whole world' written on it "Awww thank you doll" "You're welcome" she says kissing my cheek "Now...this is yours..." I say handing her a little bag She unties the little bow on it and grabs the boxes in it "Two?" "Yes, open this one first..." "Ok!" She opens the first box, the smallest one and finds a silver pair of earrings with a little diamond at the end "These are beautiful..." she says looking up at me "Open the other one" She opens it and a stray tear goes down her right cheek once she sees the silver necklace with our children initials on it "Sebastian..." "I wanted to buy this for you for so long, I almost bought it back in September but I'm glad I waited so Harper's name is on it" I say cupping her face gently "I love it, I love you" "I love you too Kim" She turns in the couch and moves her hair so I can put the necklace on "Beautiful" "Thank you" I kiss her lips softly before going back to watch our kids playing, giggling and blabbering. Probably the best Christmas of my life!
