Lucas was ready. At least, he thought he was. Ellie had taken down the gym without much difficulty, keeping her distance away from Brawly extremely well to strike at the right time. But, Lucas' gameplan was a little different to that. He wasn't much about keeping space between him and his opponent. He would strike fast and hard as much as possible. Brawly seemed to be like that as much as Lucas was as well. So, to say he was ecstatic to finally meet someone to more of his pace would be an understatement. He walked out onto that battlefield, having picked his most explosive and fast Pokemon to meet with Brawly's own strong Pokemon.

Brawly stood at the other end, as the almost broken lights finally flickered on. He looked at Lucas with a hearty smile, tossing the Pokeball into the air and catching it again as he strode forward.

"Greetings challenger! I am Brawly of Dewford Town. I've battled through the harshest waves and through the depths of Granite Cave to make my Pokémon strong enough to break through any team! If you think you've got what it takes to break through, then show me all your strength!"

He'd heard it all before from Ellie's battle. But, Lucas just assumed that he really liked to say it even if it got a little old after a while. So, Lucas allowed it. Brawly was the first to throw out their Pokemon, throwing out Machoke onto the battlefield with a hearty battle cry. Then, Lucas selected his own Pokemon, putting the other two in his pocket. He upscaled the Pokeball with a click of a button, grinning from ear to ear as he lobbed it onto the battlefield,

"Let's do it, Breloom!"

Breloom bounced onto the battlefield, dropping into a roll then a giant leap into the air, before landing on its two feet, throwing out a couple of energetic and quick punches while bouncing lightly on its feet. The referee looked to either side as they finally declared,

"Battle begin!"

"A springy one, eh? Well, let's see how well you can dodge this! Bullet Punch!"

"Challenge it with your own Mach Punch!"

Machoke readied a fist, pulling it back then charging forward with a mighty cry as it ran. Breloom bounced on its feet before leaping high into the air, reeling back a fist ready for when it would land on Machoke. They both came in close proximity and then released their punches. Machoke has more sheer power in its punches, those giant muscles not being just for show. But, Breloom's spring into the air meant it carried more momentum into its punch, so the attacks were roughly even in power. They each pulled back, steadying their balance. Then, Brawly went in for yet another punch,

"Mega Punch!"

"Dodge it!", Lucas cried as Breloom suddenly bounced out of the way of the attack, the Mega Punch letting out a loud WOOSH as it hit nothing but air. Machoke recovered from the big blow, looking up at Breloom as it suddenly dived down again.

"Mach Punch!"

"Block it!"

Breloom delivered one solid and quick punch right to Machoke's head, but by the time the second punch came, Machoke had already put up its arms, guarding its head against any further harm. But, despite its punches being blocked, Breloom just kept them coming, constantly peppering Machoke's guard with punches that were too quick to dodge on reaction, so Machoke kept up its guard. Eventually though, Brawly got a good idea of Breloom's pacing behind the punches, and how they were beginning to lose their steam as Breloom tired itself throwing more punches. He waited, then struck at the perfect moment,

"Duck under it!", he cried, as Machoke's guard fell away, and it slipped under Breloom's punch. Without a guard to punch against, Breloom lost its footing, toppling over with its eyes locked on Machoke, who would have no mercy for the next attack. "Give it all you've got, Mega Punch!"
