"Breathe, Dorinda, breathe...", I faintly heard someone say I felt someone pushing down on my chest when my eyes opened a little and I saw threw my eye lashes my dad above me. He stopped pushing down on my chest and brought his ear above my mouth. A few moments passed before he leaned back down, "Her breathing faint.",

I heard crying, but it was very low in my ears. My father looked down at me and his eyes were bloodshot, reveling he was also crying. His hand touched my cheek, but I couldn't feel it. I couldn't feel my body at all.

"She...she might not make it.", my father said and a sob left his mouth.

"Mark, you have to do something!", I heard my mother cry faintly. Everything was becoming blurry and my eye lids began to feel heavy again. "Mark, save her! Please! She's the only daughter we have! I don't want to lose my baby!",

My father got up and I saw my mother finally. He pulled her into a tight hug, "Shh, it's okay, Shelley.",

She started hitting his chest to try and get free of his hold, "No it's not! I don't want to lose her! You need to do something or we'll lose our baby! Please--"

He put his hands on either side of her arm and shook her, "Shelley, you have to stop this or you'll have a heart attack! Calm down!",

She finally was able to push him away, "Fuck you, Mark!", she went over somewhere I couldn't see. "Please, you have to help her! I don't want to lose her! Change her now.",

"Lucas would be upset with me if I was to do it.", I heard King Luka voice.

"I don't care if he'll be upset!", my mom snapped. "Do it now or God help me!",

"Okay, I'll do it!", King Luka said, but he sounded annoyed. I saw King Luka body come over next to me, "Jeez, Lucas is not going to be happy when he wakes up.", he said to himself. He leaned down a little to me, "You have to stay awake, Dorinda. Do you understand? Blink twice if you do.",

I hesitated, but I blinked twice.

He nodded, "Good. Now, do you want to stay die? Blink once for no and twice for yes.", he said. I blinked once and he nodded, "Okay. This is going to be painful, but it'll pass. The next time you wake up, everything will be different. You will see things in a new way.",

I saw him take my wrist and his fangs came out. He bit down on my wrist and I moaned in displeasure. I felt the bite and damn, did it hurt. He put his wrist up to his mouth and bit down on it. He brought our wrist together and rubbed our bite marks together. At first, nothing happen and I thought it was just weird for him to do that, but suddenly a stinging pain started at my hands.

My head tilt backwards as I groaned and my both my hands kept making a fist and unclenching as the urge to squeeze something was needed. The stinging feeling crawled up my arms to my shoulders. I kept on groaning and I felt my whole body now. I tried to move around, but King Luka put held me down, "Grab her legs!", he yelled to my father.

I felt his hands around my ankles so I would stop kicking the air.

The stinging now felt like ice prickly feeling was going threw my body and it was just an awful feeling. It started at my chest and started both ways to my head and down to my stomach.

Finally, a screamed escaped my mouth, "Make it stop!", I yelled and my eyes began to water up and tears slid down my cheek.

"Why is her tears red?", I heard my father threw my screaming.

"It's blood. When we cry, the blood we'll drink from humans will come out. Our blood is a different color--it's like a purple-reddish color. Right now, that blood is hers but soon, it'll be the same as mine.",
