KAILEY~

Oh no.

Fuck. Why, of all scenes in my band’s household, does he have to see that? Those dark brown eyes are seething, watching me coldly, like I’ve committed a serious crime.

But I did commit a serious crime! How else would I expect him to react to that?! Get a grip, Kailey. Get a damn grip!

“Trevor,” I manage to spurt out breathlessly amidst my mind’s rampage. “H-hello...”

“Hey,” he cuts off my sentence. “Kailey.”

He just spat my name like it is vomit. I’m so dead meat. And he’s not happy. He’s definitely not happy. It’s all because of him, that freakin’ Oliver who insisted on carrying me downstairs. I didn’t even agree to him in the first place!

“May I come in?” asks with a less scornful expression. He swallows a big deal of air that I actually saw his Adam’s apple rise and fall. “Hope you don’t mind us barging inside your home all of a sudden.”

“Erm, no,” I say and copy the exact thing he did with his throat. “I don’t mind at all,” I squeak.

Wait, what the hell brought him and his band here?!

Trevor makes his way past me without closing the front door, not bothering to give me another glance. I watch as his broad back and messy hair head towards the guys. It hurts me when he gives a handshake to all my bandmates and skips me. Talk about being ignored.

They are all busy greeting each other, but I’m preoccupied with other thoughts. Here and now, I want to squeal for attention. Trevor, I’m sorry!

A heavy, muscular arm flings around me, which I assume is Xave’s. “Listen,” he whispers. “Jealous hothead is something you shouldn’t miss! It’s hilarious! Watch this.”

Xave immediately drags me in front of Trevor, and no matter how much I try to break free from his arm, Xave’s just too strong for me. For now, I am his captive prisoner.

“Yo, lover boy!” Xave calls out, and Trevor quickly faces us, still showing a troubled expression. “How ya doin’ hothead?”

A flicker of anger crosses Trevor’s face. His fist carrying a bag comes down the table with a loud bang. “Get off her,” he chides at turns away.

No, no, no, no, NO!

“See, Poxy?” Xavier laughs and finally puts his arm down. “Now, I wouldn’t want his attitude burn your house down.” He finally releases me from the ‘strangle’ of his arm and proceeds to his bandmates, all clustered around our tennis table which Terence just pulled out of our storage room.

Realizing that I’m dressed in comfortable clothing, and by that I meant really really comfy—spaghetti strap top and house shorts with no footwear at all—I immediately charge upstairs to change into something more decent.

I choose a long sleeved V-neck shirt, knee length denim pants and slippers. My hair is slightly unruly but I couldn’t find my comb. After minutes of searching, I decided to gather my hair in a high ponytail, leaving some tendrils to frame both sides of my face and letting my bangs fall over my forehead.

Quickly, I open my door and bump into someone waiting for me outside my room. “Wow, someone’s dressing up nicely for our visitors.”

“You!” I roar upon realizing who it is. I grab August by his shirt, giving him a direct stare in the eye. “You guys planned this all along, didn’t you?!” August’s face is awakened by the rude shock. “Well? Speak!”
