Chapter 5: Mr. Persistent - Original Version. Wattpad Version. Unrevised. Unedited.

"And ever since then, tinawag na ako ng mga kabarkada natin ng 'Jacob-wannabe'."

"Lance Jacob Santiago."

I went to the park yesterday to find out Jacob's identity, pero in the end, I gathered more questions than received any answers. Mas dumami pa ang mga problema ko. Geez. More stress. Pero at least, I was able to find a lead in tracking down kung sino nga yung mystery texter na 'to.

Pero the main question is, between Austin and Lance, sino nga ba talaga si Jacob?

"Ms. Gonzalez. Excuse me, but can I have your attention, Ms. Nadine Beatrice Gonzalez?" I heard someone call me.

Only when Jasmine nudged my shoulder did I realize na si Mrs. Xavier pala yun. Agad akong napatingin sa direksyon niya at inayos ang pagkakaupo ko. "Y-yes Ma'am?"

She crossed her arms and gave me a pointed look. "Please take this meeting more seriously, Ms. Gonzalez. Like I said earlier, do you have any objections or other suggestions regarding our plans for the upcoming fair?"

Oh, right. Student Council meeting. Planning. School fair.

I looked at the plans that were written on the board in front of us.

"Well, I don't have any objections, and I'm sure na approve na rin naman yung the rest of the council members."

The others nodded in agreement. Mrs. Xavier looked at Jessica Gregorio, senior and current student council president. "Well then, that's settled. I need the final proposal by tomorrow morning para ma-submit ko na yun sa principal for approval."

Ate Jess nodded and immediately wrote down notes on the document she was holding. Mrs. Xavier looked at the rest of us. "Meeting adjourned. You may all take your lunch now."

Nag-umpisa nang mag-ayos ng mga gamit yung mga council members and file out of the room. Nung paalis na kami ni Jasmine, bigla akong muling tinawag ni Mrs. Xavier. "Ms. Gonzalez, may have a word with you?"

Napatingin ako kay Jasmine, who was right beside me.

"Hintayin na lang kita sa hall." Sabi niya.

I shook my head. "Mauna ka na. I'm not planning to eat lunch naman e. I'll see you guys in class later."

She nodded and hurried off. Lumapit ako kay Mrs. Xavier. "Why do you want to see me Ma'am?"

She gave me a pointed look once again. "Ms. Gonzalez, these past few days kasi parang napapansing kong distracted ka and out of focus. Hindi ka na masyadong nag-co-concentrate sa mga student council meetings and almost everytime, nakikita na lang kitang nag-di-drift off into space. Are you having problems in school or at home?"

Oh my. I can't believe na kahit yung mga obligations ko sa school naaapektuhan na rin ng mga problema ko. I can't keep this up or else baka i-inform pa ni Mrs. Xavier ang parents ko tungkol sa mga nangyayari sa akin.
