Chapter 39: Rebellion - Original Version. Wattpad Version. Unrevised. Unedited.

Nadine's POV

"Wala talaga. Wag ka nang mag-alala, okay?" Sabi niya. Pumasok siya sa loob ng kotse niya at bago umalis, rolled down the window and turned to look at me for one last time. "See you later then?" Tanong niya.

Tumango ako at pilit na ngumiti. Lance nodded back and drove off afterwards.

I sighed a few times on the way, wishing that my boyfriend would just tell me the truth and not cover everything up with false assurances and lies.

I knew him too well to be sure of that. And I'm definite that it has something to do with his conversation with Tito Leo earlier this evening. It was obvious from the way he looked after they talked. And I have a bad feeling that it was about Tito Leo's outright disapproval of our relationship.

It was already so late. 2:00 na ng madaling araw and everyone was all so tired. Kate, Chad, Kuya Drew and the others were already in their rooms, most likely asleep by now.

Actually, kanina pa talaga tapos yung dinner party, but some of the guests stayed for a few more hours to idle and chat. And before anyone was even aware of it, it was already way too past normal visiting hours and they obviously had to leave.

"Yes, of course, George."

I leaned in more closely to get a better hearing.

"The engagement will be set soon. The preparations will be planned out. And the wedding will commence as soon as we inform them." Pagpapatuloy ni Tito Leo.

I stopped on my tracks and my eyes widened in outright surprise. Wait a second. Engagement? Preparations? Wedding? It can't possibly be...?

"Definitely. This is for the success of both companies. If Nadine and Chad marry each other, then we'll definitely attain success in the industry. Mass production will be much faster, and all forms of partnerships with future clients will be much easier." Ang mapanigurado niyang pagsabi.
