Nadine's POV

My fingers moved automatically to my lips. I saw shock form in Lance's eyes. I couldn't help but move back a few steps.

Oh no.

Did I actually just do that?

"Lance I─" I tried to explain, make up an excuse, anything. But the problem is that I couldn't think of any reason why I did that. I never meant to kiss him. I never had any intention to do so. That kiss should never have happened.

Pero bago pa ako makapagsalita muli, bigla na lang inilayo ni Lance ang tingin niya sa akin, at hindi ko na nakita kung ano ang ekspresyon sa mukha niya.

"It's getting late. Tara, uwi na tayo. Baka mag-alala pa yung pamilya mo." He turned around and walked away, leaving me. I couldn't help but stare at his wake. Is he mad that I kissed him?

I took my purse from the table that we occupied earlier and ran after him. Nung nakalabas na ako ng club, I saw him already entering his car. I quickened my pace and got inside.

We didn't speak at all during the ride home. The atmosphere around us was tense. When I glanced at Lance's direction, I saw his hands clenched deeply into the steering wheel. He was also driving very fast, as though he couldn't wait to get me home. Ganun ba talaga siya kagalit dahil lang sa paghalik ko sa kanya?

Ilang beses pa akong napatingin sa direksyon niya, pero hindi na niya ako pinansin at nagpatuloy lang sa pagmamaneho. Tensyonadong-tensyonado sa pagitan namin. Napaka-awkward ng atmosphere. Nakakailang talaga ang disposisyon namin.

And before I was even aware of it, we were already in front of my house. "Nandito na tayo."

I planned to get out of the car immediately, but my legs wouldn't cooperate with me. "Lance, please let me explain what happened."

Pero hindi pa rin niya ako tiningnan. "There's no need for an explanation. Sige na, you should go. You still have classes tomorrow diba?"

I reluctantly got out of the car. "Bye."

He just nodded and drove away before I could say another word. Naiwan na lang akong nakatitig sa papalayo niyang kotse hanggang sa tuluyan na itong maglaho. After a short while, I sighed lamentingly, feeling my heart become heavy with regret. I reached for the spare gate key in my bag and opened the gate.

When I got inside the house, agad akong sinalubong ni Ate Margie, may malaking ngiting nakalapat sa kanyang mukha. "Kamusta ang date niyo?"

I shrugged and went upstairs. I immediately locked the door of my bedroom and fell onto my bed, forcing myself not to scream outright at that moment.

Stupid, stupid, stupid!

Ano kayang pumasok sa utak ko at naisipan kong halikan si Lance?!
