The Last Ship (18+)

Chapter Thirteen: A Bloody Debate.

The door clicked, suddenly bursting open. Bruno, quickly moved out with a large gun. His green eyes glowed vibrantly as he yelled once again, "Move, Blondie!" The male pushed her back and moved out. He quickly began to pull the trigger on the large gun; shooting at the charging Irinauts, being sure not to hit Zio, "You mother fuckers! Get the fuck out of 'ere! Ahh!" The male screamed as he shot.

Blood splattered the walls as he hit the Irinauts. In the midst, Zio had got caught up with the larger one. The two rolled, screaming back and forth at one another. Zio slammed the Irinaut back into the wall. 'Don't touch her!' He hissed. His jaws opened before he quickly sunk his teeth down into the other's neck. Zio pressed his hind leg against the other Irinaut and dragged his claws against his stomach; ripping down it and leaving large gashes. His body was coated in blood, and his eyes had become completely slit, 'Control yourself!' Zio screeched loudly.

Luna was frozen in horror. She dragged herself back. The female leaned down and held her hands over her head. She shut her eyes tightly as the bullets flew, and Zio fought against the larger Irinaut. Her heart was racing as she looked forward. Luna began to crawl into the side of the door as Bruno moved more forward.

Zio screamed out in pain as a second Irinaut got on his back. The male stumbled back and bashed the infected male into the wall. As the other fell off, it looked towards Luna, and quickly went for her. The feral Irinaut grabbed her leg and roughly yanked down. It screeched loudly as it opened it's expanded jaws, 'She isn't our queen!' He hissed. Odd black flared fins expanded on the sides of his neck as he leaned down, ready to rip her apart.

Luna screamed, pushing against the male as he lunged at her, but in a single swift move, Zio jumped on it's back and sunk his teeth into its neck and arched back with it. He wrapped his hands around the beast's neck and twisted; snapping it in two.

Zio breathed heavily. The male held his side as he attempted to catch his breath. Zio looked about at the bloody mess around them. He stumbled a bit as he looked towards Luna. He let out a nervous whine as he moved towards her quickly, 'Luna!'

"Back off chief! I'll blow you to bits as quickly as I did them!" Bruno moved forward and stood in front of Luna. The male pointed it at Zio's head with all intentions to kill him, "Back the fuck up you ol' beast!"

"Don't touch him!" Luna shoved Bruno to the side; quickly moving in front of Zio. She stood in front of the large male. Even if he towered over her, she wasn't letting anyone hurt him, "He doesn't want to hurt anyone, a-and I'm not going to let you hurt him!" Luna's heart was racing. She kept her stance firmly in front of Zio. Her golden eyes glowed vibrantly.

Zio looked down at the small female; quite surprised that she was keeping to her word. The male huffed and lightly tilted his head. He looked towards Bruno and let out a low growl, 'Put the gun down, or I'll make those bullets fly towards you.' Zio held his hands up as he spoke.

Luna hit Zio on the side, "Zio, knock it off." She looked back at him curiously before turning her attention to Bruno, "Put the gun down, Bruno, please."

"Bullshit! He's got you brain washed! Luna, move!"

"That's enough Bruno! We got her back, that's all that matters! Put the gun down, and move back into the quarantine room!" Professor Reed spoke into the intercom, "Don't you dare shoot him! If it wasn't for Zi-0 you would all be dead! Get in here now! That's a order soldier!"

Bruno sneered his lip in frustration before bringing his gun down, "Ah fuck! We're listening to the girl? Since when do we follow orders from a kid?" Bruno shook his head before turning around and walking into the room. "Move it, the both of you. For all we know you've led them straight here."

Luna looked up at Zio with relief, but saw that the male was quite beaten, "Oh, Zio. Are you okay?" She took his hand and began to walk towards the door. As the two entered, it sealed shut behind them. Bruno was already in the quarantine part away from the two of them, getting cleaned up of any possible spores that got on him. The door was locked of course, leaving Zio and Luna back where they had been before.

Professor Jewel and Reed seemed shocked. In fact, the world around the two of them seemed silent as Luna kept herself in front of Zio. Jewel looked about for a moment; truly in quite a shock as she moved forward and clicked a button, "Luna, what is the meaning of this, darling? W-why aren't you coming out of there? Protecting that Irinaut?"

Luna helped Zio sit down; ignoring Jewel as she spoke to her. The girl gave a nervous shake of her head, "H-He's hurt, can someone come in here, please?" Luna looked towards them and then at Captain Strong. Who seemed more afraid then anyone, "You got what you wanted, now help me." Luna sat next to Zio as she pulled off her jacket. She pressed it against his side.

The large male hissed, 'Ahh! Careful.' He shut one of his eyes as he winced. Zio looked towards the people outside the room. He let out a low huff as he spoke to Luna, 'Luna, they are contemplating killing me. You need to do something.' The male winced painfully. He breathed heavily as he kicked his legs out. Zio let out a pained groan, 'Luna!'

Luna stood up and hugged Zio, "Relax. You're getting angry. You need to calm down. No one's going to come in here with your temper like this." The blonde leaned back and gently placed her hand on his cheek, "Alright?"

Zio gasped softly. He looked at Luna. His green eyes lit up as his pupils dilated. He took a deep breath before giving a soft nodd. Zio winced a bit as he looked towards the window, 'Tell them I'll explain myself after they fix this.' Zio held the jacket against his side.

Professor Jewel and Reed were arguing on the other side of the glass, pointing towards the two of them. Reed threw his hands up and walked towards the speaker, "Jewel is coming in, but Luna you have to come out."

Zio roared, 'The hell she is!' The male attempted to sit up and pull Luna against him. He winced and took a deep breath as the sting ran through him. He winced as he sulked. Zio took a deep breath as he turned his head.

"N-No, I'll stay in here with him. He needs me here." Luna felt it necessary. She couldn't leave Zio's side. The girl felt this was something she had to do. Zio needed her and in some sense, she felt that she needed him more.

Professor Jewel pulled on a hazmat suit and walked into the wall, "Luna, I'm coming in. Keep Zi-0 calm, alright? We won't make you leave. Just, keep him under control."

"His name is Zio."

Zio pulled Luna closely, 'I won't let them take you, darling.'
