"You know he was a great man." Luke started. "Until his conflict with the Clave. When your mother ran away with the cup, he was just so afraid of retribution from the Clave, he burnt their house down to the ground. He wanted the world to believe he was dead. And the ashes we found the remains of a man and a child."
I couldn't stand. Child? I fell back into the chair behind me.
"Wait, your saying there was a child?" I asked in disbelief.
"Valentine was so enraged that he wanted her to believe he killed himself and their son. Your brother."
I blinked once. Then twice. Then another time. Then the information sunk in. I looked at Luke with wide eyes.
"I have a brother?"
"Jonathan Christopher Morgenstern."
Jonathan Christopher Morgenstern. It sounded so familiar. It's like I saw it written.... The box. The box my mom kept with her that contained the sleeping bottle. The initials on the box were JC. Jonathan Christopher Morgenstern. Before I could saw anything else, my phone started to ring.
"Clary?" A voice said. A voice that could easily be identified for me.
"Simon?"
"Yeah we found out where they're keeping your mom."
"Where?"
"Renwick's."
"How did you find this out?" I asked him.
"We know that Valentine came threw a portal." Simon started.
"But how did -"
"Isabelle managed to catch the fact he came threw a portal. So she told me there were only two portals in New York. One at Dorothea's and another at Renwick's. Since I doubt he used Dorothea's, that means he could only go to one other place -"
"Renwick's." I finished for him.
"Exactly. So I went on Google and searched it up. It's abandoned now. And public access is forbidden so it'd be perfect for Valentine."
"Thanks Simon. You're the best." I hung up and turned to face Luke. "They found her."
"I heard. Renwick's?" He asked just to be sure.
"Yeah."
"Okay, let me make a call."
Luke pulled out his phone and walked away from me.
I looked up to the sky and smiled. "We're coming to get you mom."

It's short. I know. Like wow it's incredibly short. I think this is the shortest chapter in this book.
Honestly I wouldn't even be shocked if no one read this anymore because I haven't updated in so long. You see i just started high school so it's been really tough of me and I haven't had a lot of time to write. I know it's just an excuse but then I also have like 4 things to do everyday day of the week and that's not even including the homework.
I'll try to update faster next time.
Just please be patient! The books coming to an end. I'm going to try to make it super good. I'd make the next chapter long except then I might have only 16 chapter in the book. They have to be short but long if you get what I mean. You probably don't but whatever.
