Harry had always loved Christmas. There was just so much to love about it. It was cold outside, sometimes it snowed, the inside of his home always felt so warm and cozy and inviting, the Christmas decorations, the lovely twinkly lights on the outside of his home and even inside, and not to mention the beautiful Chrismas tree. Another thing he enjoyed about Christmas was the quality time he was able to spend with his friends and his family.

This Christmas, Harry and his family were invited over to the Tomlinson household for Christmas dinner which was held the day before Christmas just like every year. All of Louis' relatives were always in attendance or so it seemed from how Louis described it. He always said it was much like the house in Home Alone.

However, Anne was working late that night and Gemma was having dinner over at Asher's with his family, so Harry would be the only one from his family who would be going. Which Louis seemed to be absolutely content with.

Plus, Christmas Eve was Louis' birthday and Harry was excited about celebrating it with Louis' family. It would almost feel like he was a part of Louis' family, a small glimpse into his future, Harry was hoping anyway.

Anne had dropped Harry off at the Louis' house before she headed out to work and Gemma was meant to come pick him up when the dinner with Asher's boyfriend ended. Harry walked up to the door, shivering a little even though he was dressed for the cold, then knocked on the door, smiling widely whenever Louis answered the door.

"Come in, love. It's freezing." Louis said and then pulled Harry inside, shutting the door after him.

It was so warm in Louis' house and Harry was suddenly very grateful for indoor heating and fireplaces. Harry slipped his shoes off as well as his coat before Louis wrapped his arms around his boyfriend from behind, kissing his cheek gently before letting go.

"What was that for?" Harry asked when he'd turned around to look at his boyfriend curiously.

"To apologize for making you meet my entire family in one sitting." Louis chuckled lightly and then reached over to take Harry's hand gently in his own. "And to thank you for coming."

"It's your birthday, Lou. I had to come." Harry smiled and then took a small breath as he heard a lot of commotion coming from the kitchen and dining room as well as people talking and laughing in the living room. It really was a packed house.

After about an hour of being there, Harry was pretty sure he'd met about a hundred relatives of Louis'. Maybe he was slightly exaggerating in his own head, but it was a lot of people. Remembering names was going to be tough, but Louis told him not to worry about it because he didn't know half of their names either.

As Harry sat next to Louis at the dining room table, eating dinner with the whole family while he and Louis talked to one another and only one another, he realized he didn't mind that there were tons of people talking at once. Joking, laughing, chatting, gossiping, having fun. Harry even listened in on some of the conversations when Louis was talking to one of his family members.
