"Let's go upstairs," Luke said as he pulled away from Ashton, letting his forehead rest against Ashton's, expecting the boy to agree.

"What? No." Ashton replied softly and then leaned his head back to look at Luke. "You have a girlfriend." He said when Luke gave him a confused look.

"That didn't bother you when you stuck your tongue down my throat," Luke replied and then looked over Ashton. "Besides, she's not my girlfriend anymore. We broke up." He said, making Ashton feel conflicted.

On one hand, this felt right. Being here with Luke, the two of them pressed close together. But even though Ashton knew that Luke was dating Bella, it was as if none of that mattered to him when Luke looked at him the way that he did. Knowing Luke was no longer with Bella made him feel even more conflicted though. Because if he went upstairs with Luke, it was almost as if he was forgiving Luke for being a jerk these past few weeks. But on the other hand, Ashton wanted to forgive Luke.

"So?" Luke asked after a few moments of silence was shared between the two of them and it was almost as if Luke could see the conflicting thoughts behind those hazel eyes. "We don't have to if you don't want to, Ash, it's okay." He assured him softly and then reached down to hold Ashton's hand, intertwining their fingers together.

"Really?" Ashton asked softly as he looked into Luke's blue eyes, wondering why things couldn't always be this easy between the two of them.

"Really," Luke said and gave Ashton a small smile. "We can just... hang out. Talk. Drink. Makeout a little more. Whatever you want, baby." He said and then smiled a little before Ashton was leaning in again to press his lips to Luke's.

"Let's go upstairs," Ashton said softly when he'd pulled away and then smiled at Luke, squeezing his hand gently.

"Yeah?" Luke asked and then kissed Ashton's lips a few more times before pulling away and then lead him upstairs to find a bedroom.

"Oh, and now they're going upstairs. That's going to work out great," Eleanor said, a hint of sarcasm laced in her voice before she'd continued sipping on her drink.

"Maybe it will," Harry said with a small shrug of his shoulders as he watched the two boys walk up the stairs together. "I mean, here's hoping."

A few hours later, it was leading up to the countdown for the start of the new year. There was anticipation in the air as pretty much the entire party filed in and around the living room as the large flat screen television played the countdown they all watched every year.

The eight friends were all huddled up on one couch as they chatted and watched the television every now and again. The room was getting hotter and hotter each minute that past, and much louder at that. But, it gave Harry a lot of time to think about how his life would be that next year.

"10..."

Harry thought about all the possibilities the next year holds for him.

"9..."

All the new mistakes he would make.

"8..."

How those mistakes would shape the next year after this one.

"7..."

Harry thought about his friends.

"6..."

How his friends would handle the news.

"5..."

He wondered if he would even have friends left by the end of this new year.

"4..."
