Chapter 39

Kiss

While I was scrolling through my phone, unexpected, terrible news caught my attention.

Collins Smith's Involvement in the Recent Scandal and Modeling Misconduct Revealed.

But seeing how it took domination of my news feed told me that it was serious and no laughing matter. Even the biggest broadcasting companies released articles about it, too.

Ulrik:

I'm almost there. Sorry, I got caught in traffic.

I told him it was okay. I was busy reading another article about Collins Smith when I heard a clamor as soon as the door opened.

Inangat ko ang tingin. It was Ulrik.

It took him a while to finish catching up with two other customers before he smiled apologetically at me.

"Riz, I'm really sorry about that," paumanhin niya habang nilalapag ang coat sa upuan.

Umiling ako at ngumiti sa kanya. "Kararating ko lang din. Walang problema."

"That's a relief. Have you ordered yet?"

"Hindi pa. Sabay na tayo."

"Gotcha," he then raised his hand to order.

It's the weekend, so I immediately asked him if he was available to work on our feasibility study.

He didn't need to write anything.

"It is feasible," he nodded while scanning the last page of the documents.

"Really?" Para akong nabunutan ng tinik sa dibdib.

Hearing it from him was more than an assurance.

"The application itself, yes," Ulrik then turned to me. "But since you have to consider your position in the market, being a startup company may turn off your prospects. Convincing online application owners to partner with you is a challenge."

"That's true. It gets trickier the more I think about it."

"Another serious consideration, Riz. While persuading companies that own these applications, you also need to persuade their users to use your app for the rewards system. So technically, you need to look at this from a B2B and B2C marketing perspective."

I was honestly impressed. He has always been so laid back and playful. But today, I realized he was serious when it came to his stuff more than I thought.
