Well done for your medal.
I'm glad you got the gold.
But when did medal become a verb?
I guess I'm getting old.There's such a verb as 'meddling'.
I knew it in my youth.
But it didn't mean you'd won a race.
It meant you'd interfered.There's nothing wrong with 'medal';
A perfect English word
But I don't like what they've done to it.
When did it get 'verbed'?So all praise to our heroes
To sportsmen of renown
But do us all a favour
Stop meddling. It's a noun!
