We lit the first candle of Advent
With Swedish Frukost today.
And every window in Sweden
Is lit with candles or stars.
For it's the first Sunday of Advent
The build up begins today.
So with cheese and open sandwiches
Cold meats and cereal too.
A pleasing spread, a family time
The candle first of four.
Later there'll be Ficka;
Coffee and cake with friends;
A special Swedish thing.
Perhaps later there'll be a smorgasbord.
Filled with sumptuous things.
I can't say there's not
A rush in the shops
They caught Black Friday too
But Advent's much more special here
I think that's nice - don't you?
Note : Frukost is Swedish Breakfast.
