The Destiny of two

Chapter 49 ~ Death of Arthur

I slide down the hill and run to Arthur. I kneel over him.

"Please don't tell me it bit you."

"It didn't," Merlin says

"Okay well, if he didn't he should be waking up." I scold

I feel something on my hand. I slowly lift my hand and look at it. It was blood.

"No, no, no, no, no. Arthur!" I shout.

"Somebody help us!" Merlin shouts.

As soon as the knights came, we went straight to Camelot and took him to Gaius's chambers. The knights that were carrying Arthur put him on the table.

"What happened?" Gaius asks he bends down "He's been bitten."

"We tried to save him," Merlin says

Gaius looks to the knights "You must tell the king."

"There must be something you can do!" I say 

"I wish there was" Gaius sighs.

"I'll find a cure," Merlin runs up the stairs.

"Merlin!" I shout.

"Trust me," He calls.

Merlin comes back down with our spellbook. "here."

"The king'll be here any moment," Gaius says.

"He can't die. It is our destiny to protect him." Merlin says "We haven't done all the things we're meant to do."

"That is the Lament of all men,"  Gaius says

"Gaius, he's our friend."  

"Do it," Gaius says.

Merlin starts finding some spells and doing them. He tried a spell, but it didn't work. I walk over to Merlin and try and help him find a spell.

I walk over to Arthur "Maybe the spells will take time to take effect." 

"The bite of the questing beast is a death sentence that no magic can overturn." Gaius says

Uther bursts into the room "Where is my son?" 

Merlin quickly shuts the spell book.

Uther walks further in "Arthur!" 

He grabs Arthur's head. "Do something, Gaius."

"I am trying, your majesty." Gaius says.

"Gaius will find a cure. He will not let him die." Merlin states.

Gaius glares at Merlin  "I will do everything in my power"

Uther lifts Arthur "I will bear him to his chambers."

A tear rolls down Uthers cheek he walks out the room carrying Arthur. Merlin and I look at each other then walk out the door following Gaius and Uther out. Merlin and I stood in the back and watch Uther fall down crying and some other guards carry Arthur to his room. Merlin turns an runs.

"Merlin!" I shout. 

He ignores me and disappears around the corner.

I was busy pacing in Gaius's chambers when Merlin walked in.

I walk over to him "Where the hell have you been!"

Merlin was talking about about how the creature was saved from the old religion and Arthur had to be saved from it. Merlin and Arthur were having a big squabble I didn't remember it all. But I remember Merlin saying something about a island beyon the white mountains. I came back into reality.
