Chapter 40

Sang

I got to the road and looked down to where those bitches had my son. I started to limp my way down as fast as I can, when I got just right around the corner where they turned a small body bumped into me and my leg gave out. I fell back and looked at beautiful dark eyes staring back at me.

Rydian.

"Oh, baby are you okay?" I rushed out and looked him over, he said he was fine and I hugged him. He got up and tried to help me, fear in his eyes. Another shot was fired and he cried out falling over. No!!!

I looked to where the sound came from and saw Danielle pointing a gun at us. I planted myself right in front of Rydian, not knowing where he got hit but his cries were enough to tell me he was going to be okay for now.

"Let's go you bitch or the next bullet is going through his head." She spat, her face was cover with sweat and her chest was heaving for air.

"Okay! Just don't fucking point that shit at my son." I growled as I slowly got up and she mentioned for me to walk on the road. "Where's Jade?" I asked walking backwards so I can make sure she didn't pull anything. Rydian was crying and holding his leg.

"On her way back. That bounty is ours!" she said and I scoffed. Of course that's why they're working with Volto, he gets what he wants and let's them have the cash. Only if they knew that my bounty was practically nothing compared to the hard drive.

I heard the wheels of the tires come rolling down the road at a fast pace. I'm guessing Rydian must have gotten a chance to escape, leading Danielle to go after him, maybe doing a warning shot to stop him, and Jade driving off because someone shot back.

Someone was here. Helping. I tired to think and I only thing that came to mind was the guys. They know the land, LaLa must have help them. I sighed out a relief because I was going to fall over.

I heard footsteps running towards us and I knew that was Volto, finally down from the tree. When I looked back it was indeed him. "What's going on?" He demanded grabbing my arm in grip.

"Little shit kicked in Jades face when she turned to was ask him something. Then he pushed my face forward into he dashboard and jumped out of the car. I got out to chase after him, then shot off a round hoping he would stop but then someone else shot at the car, then Jade told me to follow the kid and meet up further down the road. I chased him through the woods a bit and finally shot his leg." Volto looked at my crying Rydian when Jade pulled up,  a shot was fired busting the passenger window and I duck down trying to get my hold away from him.

Volto cursed and Jade yelled at us to get in, I finally punched Volto in his nose, loving the crunching sound. Danielle push me off and shot my other leg, I cried out. Then a shot was fired and she fell to the ground. Volto freaked and ran for the open door to get in. I grabbed the gun Danielle had and shot him in the shoulder, it was a cheap shot.

He didn't make it into the door. Jade was hesitant and another shot fired trying to hit her. She stepped on the gas and took off, only to get her tires taken out and she spun out of control into a tree. I climbed over Volto and started beating the shit out him, only to have black spots cross my vision.

I hesitated, I was beating up North. His dark eyes looking at me, pleading for me to stop. That I was hitting the wrong person. No. This wasn't North, he didn't smell of light musk. He didn't have rough calloused hands from working on engines.

He pushed me off and forced himself up, next thing I know I was used as his human shield. I couldn't focus anymore, my eyes suddenly felt heavy and all I could hear was shouting around me. I couldn't feel the bottom half of my body. My vision was blurred, all I could see was dark figures surrounding me.
