(one week later)

Sang

I woke up to soft beeping noise beside me, I tried to use my hand to shut off the damn alarm. I felt too tired. Arm practically heavy like it gained weight over night. Then I felt a slight pain when I tried to get up. My stomach sore.

When I could, I managed to open my eyes. My bedroom a safe haven. I sighed. I wish I could lay around all day but I needed to get up and cook for the kids. When my eyes traveled to my arm, I saw and IV in. What? I followed the tube up and over towards a machine. What the?

My memory slowly coming back, the pain in my stomach, my legs. Shots fired. Rydian! I forced myself up and groaned, oowwouch! What the heck! I uncovered myself, seeing I am wearing a tank top with booty shorts. My legs have bandages wrapped on them, as well as my stomach. Yup, I lost my mind.

What happened? I must have got surgery and survived. I unhooked the IV. Son of a....grrr. why do those things have to be so sticky. I found gauze and tape on the dresser and did a shitty job the wrap it up. There were crutches next to the bed as well. My body protested against me.

I got up and managed to stand, I felt like stretching but I thought better of it. My mouth was dry and my stomach grumbled. Kitchen. I needed to get to the kitchen. Where were the kids, weren't they supposed to be at my bedside? Where was Luke and Corey? Oh god, the guys? Why was I back home? Weren't we I'm Charleston? So many questions.

I moved forward taking it step by step, the hall was quiet but as I came closer to the livingroom I heard laughter and music. I slowly crept to peek in, I was shock to see all 14 of the guys sitting in a half circle watching Shiloh and Starr do karaoke.

"...this is how we do it..it's Friday night, and I feel alright..the party is here on the west side..so I reach for my 40 and I turn it up, designated driver take the keys to my truck..." I smiled at the joy in Shiloh's voice. The kids were sitting in front of their fathers with the wolves. We were all together.

My eyes burned and my heart pounded. Love filled out home. This was the way it always supposed to be. From the beginning, we were all supposed to feel this feeling. My mind went back to Nathan at the academy hospital. Can I forgive them? Should I? How was that supposed to work? What would the kids want? Could we just...what do I do?

"..you see the hood's been good to me, ever since I was a lower case G..but now I'm a big G. The girls see I got the money..a hundred dollars bills y'all.." Oh Shiloh.. I shook my head and watch from the shadows.

I waited for the next verse, I grabbed an extra mic from the box on shelf that held all the family board games. I felt strong enough to put aside the crutches and lean against the wall to support me as I sang.."check it out! Once upon a time in '94, Montell made no money and life sure was slow..and all they said was 6'8 he stood, and people thought the music that he made was good, there lived a DJ and Paul was his name..he came up to Monty, this is what he said..you and OG are gonna make some cash, sell a million records and we'll make a dash.."

"Mom!!!!" Everyone turned towards me and I couldn't stop the big smile that formed my lips. I laughed as they ran towards me, slowing down as held out my arms. I hugged my babies as tight as I could. Rydian being last as I saw a big boot on him and using one crutch. He was okay.

"Sang," I looked up to find Luke and Corey rushing to me as well. Tears flooded my eyes but I blinked them away. The kids made room for them and I became a Luke&Corey sandwich. I breathed in their scents and all was good again. I looked into Luke's chocolate eyes as he held my face gently to kiss me. Then my chin was tilted to the left as Corey kissed me softly as well.
