Chapter 12

Angel's POV

After our very tiring moment that I'm too shy to even talk about, we spent the whole day watching Netflix. Xavier might look tough on the outside but one you get to know him he's a sweetheart. He cooked us breakfast and for lunch we ordered.

We were cuddling when Xavier's phone started ringing. He ignored it the first two times but I told him to pick it up on the third. It was obnoxiously loud and irritating. It's been ten minutes since he's left the room. I'm pretty sure it's important business work. I was very soar from last night, which is why I spent the day in bed being pampered by this gorgeous man I call my boyfriend.

My phone started ringing as well and it was mom. She must be calling to check up on me. I miss her so much.

"Hey mom"

"Hey, sweety I just got home , where are you ?"

"I'm with Xavier now, do you need anything?"

"Listen baby please come home now I have something important to tell to tell you"

"Mom, is everything okay. What's wrong?"

"Listen just come back home okay hunny. We'll talk when you get here."

"Okay mom I'll be there soon."

I hung up the phone and got off the bed slowly. I put my clothes on. I decided to leave everything I came with here. It's not like I won't be coming back so it's safe to leave some clothes here. I made my way downstairs and I found Xavier in the living room drinking whiskey straight from the bottle. He looked stressed and worried.

"Xavier?" He lifted his head up and looked at me. He let out a sigh as he ran his had through his hair. His face softened when his eyes met mine.

"Yes, kitten." He said in a very low voice.

"Mom, just called. She's back from the trip and she said she wants to talk to me. Can you please take me home?"

"Okay, kitten. Come here." He patted his thigh signalling me to sit in his lap. I made my way to him and sat on his lap. His face was now relaxed.

"Listen kitten. I promise I will never let you go. You believe me right." He softly said looking me straight in the eyes.

"Yes I believe you Xavier. What's wrong ? where's all this coming from?" I asked.

"It's nothing kitten. I just wanted to make sure you'll always remember that I don't plan on leaving you."

"Okay. I believe you Xavier and I told you I want to give us a chance mmh. Let's go then. I don't want to keep mom waiting."

"I'm sorry, bunny you have to go through this"

"But why me mom? What did I do to deserve this? Why should everyone have to leave me? Am I that bad?God knows I've been a good person. Then why?" I said as my voice cracked.

"I'm sorry baby." Mom said.

Mom just told me that in a meeting they had just left a few hours ago. She got to know that Xavier is promised to another woman and that for him to finally take over his father's business he needs to marry her. My heart shattered in to many pieces when I head this. Was this the reason why Xavier was acting strangely after that phonecall. He was quiet the whole ride here and it made me worry.

I left my mom's room and ignored her as she was calling my name. I shut my bedroom door and locked it. Will he leave me? No he won't. He promised me he won't. Oh God how could you let this happen.
