We were in my living room. I was snuggled up next to his side. Music suddenly started playing. It was a Bobby Darin song. I don't know why I thought about that song or where it was even playing from. But I felt like dancing. So I get up from the couch and put my hand out for his. He looks at my hand, then at me.

Every night I hope and pray
A dream lover will come my way
A girl to hold in my arms
And know the magic of her charms
'Cause I want (yeah-yeah, yeah)
A girl (yeah-yeah, yeah)
To call (yeah-yeah, yeah)
My own (yeah-yeah)
I want a dream lover
So I don't have to dream alone

"Dance with me." I say through the music. He tuts at me while turning his head the other way before shaking it side to side.

"You know I don't like this soft shit." He says while turning his head back towards me.

Dream lover, where are you
With a love, oh, so true
And the hand that I can hold
To feel you near as I grow old
'Cause I want (yeah-yeah, yeah)
A girl (yeah-yeah, yeah)
To call (yeah-yeah, yeah)
My own (yeah-yeah, yeah)
I want a dream lover
So I don't have to dream alone

"I know and I don't care. C'mon." I grab his hand and pull him up from the couch.

I intertwine our fingers together, swinging our arms and he just stands there, looking grouchy.

"C'mon, this is my dream. You have to do what I want."

"Fine..." A smirk grows on his face and he starts dancing with me.

Someday, I don't know how
I hope she'll hear my plea
Some way, I don't know how
She'll bring her love to me

I look up at him and we lock eyes, not breaking eye contact and barely blinking. I batted my lashes at him and his smirk grew into a smile, making his doe eyes squint from how hard his smile pushed the muscles in his cheeks up.

Dream lover, until then
I'll go to sleep and dream again
That's the only thing to do
'Til all my lover's dreams come true
'Cause I want (yeah-yeah, yeah)
A girl (yeah-yeah, yeah)
To call (yeah-yeah, yeah)
My own (yeah-yeah, yeah)
I want a dream lover
So I don't have to dream alone

"When your dad said to stop dreaming about him, that didn't mean to start dreaming of me, y'know."

"Who's gonna stop me from dreaming what I wanna dream?"

He pouts his bottom lip while shrugging his shoulders.

Dream lover, until then
I'll go to sleep and dream again
That's the only thing to do
'Til all my lover's dreams come true
'Cause I want (yeah-yeah, yeah)
A girl (yeah-yeah, yeah)
To call (yeah-yeah, yeah)
My own (yeah-yeah)
I want a dream lover
So I don't have to dream alone

"I guess no one." A smile grows on both of our faces.

Suddenly, Eddie spins me around and pulls me into him, making me giggle.

Please don't make me dream alone
I beg you don't make me dream alone
No, I don't wanna dream alone

"I'll see you next time, sweetheart."
