Only in silence
do I really see
what matters most
—past shifting dunes
and the flagrant lies—
only in silence
do I find the lostOnly in silence
have I really become
who I am in secret
—through slogging steps
and flogging tongues—
only in silence
do I get over regretOnly in silence
will I really know
where have I been
—inside the blatant cages
and the endless toil—
only in silence
will I learn to let goOnly in silence
do I really see
what I left behind
—past the lifting tunes
and the cheerful goodbyes—
only in silence
do I respond in kindOnly in silence
have I really ended
as who I am in jest
—through scarring words
and rash farewells—
only in silence
do I lose my zestOnly in silence
will I eventually grasp
where have I found myself due
—inside the chaos in my heart
and the turmoil in my soul—
only in silence
will I realize I wasted you
