I drown in the sea
of the words I can't take back
and I crawl in the muck
of the things I lack
I breathe in the smog
from the chimneys
I didn't clean
and I take in harsh truths
beyond what they mean
I claw my way
to the dreams
I have to reach
but I shrivel in tears
because of the high hitch
I chip away the blinds
I've known to be stuck
I drown in the sea of
the time I can't take back
