Ever since I was born
I was fighting
—for my life
and my world
I was fighting for myselfAs I grew up
I was fighting
—for my place
and my home
I was fighting
for my right
to be heardThen I leave
I was fighting
the world
—even the dreams
put in me
I was fighting
until I couldn't
—anymoreFinally, in my sick bed
I was fighting
—for my strength
and my soul
I was fighting
just to stayAs I look to heaven
I was fighting
the thoughts
of giving up
even the calls
of destiny in my ears
—I was fighting for life
for my place in the world
until I can answer the question
—"Will I ever stop fighting?"—
with my last breath
