Why do you live?
—I ask as you claw
your way to the
loft you so craved
Why do you live?
—I ask as you fall back
a distance greater than
where you started
Why do you live?
—I ask as you fight
for what you believed in
and fail at it
Why do you live?
—I ask as you waste
your life thinking of things
that you don't matter
And yet you manage
to throw that question
back at me
Why do I live?
—you ask as I dig
a ditch that will someday
devour me
Why do I live?
—you ask as I try
to change something
that won't go my way
Why do I live?
—you ask as I strike
my hand in a pledge
I won't ever fulfill
Why do I live?
—you ask as I stay
inside a cage that
I have built, myself
So why do we live?
—perhaps, just to

—it's a question

with this journey
