I have had a thought
so profound
that I decided
to share to the world
It was a seed
—a beginning
thought to inspire
growth of a
hundred others—
but the world
stepped on it
A seed trying to grow
in a barren soil
and a venomous air
—the world did its best
to squash down
because it wasn't
enough or relevant
I have had a thought
—a seed—
but the world
encouraged thorns
to grow instead
They choked the seed
until nothing is left
—not even my roots
