Roni pov

Our school was a little bland, to say the least. Our school doesn't allow families or companions to deliver any holiday goods to the students, which is weird. They thought it would be "competition" to the people who sponsor things at our school.

Regardless, the school was bare of the infectious holiday. There was a couple of girls with boxes of chocolate, but that was basically it. "He didn't call?" Jos asks, taking me away from my thoughts.

"Yeah, he didn't call. How did you know?" I ask, she frowns. "You won't stop looking all sad and pissed." She says, I laugh. "That's just my face." I tell her, she shakes her head, laughing lightly.

"I can't believe that it's senior year and I still don't have a valentines date." Abby says, we snap our heads to look at her. "Who needs a man anyways." Jos says, scoffing lightly. "Me! I need the man! Me!" Abby yells dramatically, pointing at herself. "Maybe today is your lucky day." I say, she gives me a look. "How! It's valentines!" She exclaims, I smirk. "Who knows! Just stop freaking out, it's freaking me out!" Joselyn says, I shove her slightly.

"What are we talking about?" Matty comes up, Joselyn looks over at me and gives me a deadpan look. "I don't even know what we're talking about, we never know what's going on in this little group. Trust me." Hanna says, I nod along. "What she said." Becca chimes in.

"Do you mind me asking why you're here?" Joselyn bluntly asks, the group chuckles.

"Always nice talking to you Jos." Matty says, she rolls her eyes. "I know, but you never answered my question." She crosses her arms.

"Just thought I'd stop by to give Roni this." He says, pulling his backpack to be sitting on his stomach. He unzips his backpack, slowly pulling a rose out of it. All of the girls in the group look at me as he hands it over carefully.

"Uh, what can I say?" I say, mostly shocked. "I don't know, maybe a thank you." Christina yell-whispers, Joselyn laughs.

"Uh, thank you Matty. Happy Valentines Day. I didn't get you anything, I'm sorry." I say, he smirks. This can't be good. "I know what you can give me." He suggests, I look at Joselyn for help.

"Space." Joselyn remarks under her breath, he looks at her quickly. "No, a date. Tonight." He says, my eyes widen. All of the girls were saying go, but Joselyn wasn't. "Sure, why not. What else do I have to lose?" I say, he smiles widely.

"I'll pick you up at 7." He states, I shake my head. "I'll just meet you somewhere." I tell him, he nods before walking away. "Well, good to know that someone has a date tonight." Abby says sadly, I shrug.

"I had one." Becca says, Hanna smiles. "I did too." She says, then Christina nods. "Me too!" She exclaims. "Guess that just leaves you and me, Joselyn." Abby says, she shrugs sadly. "Yep, I guess it's the two of us." She folds her arms up around her stomach, almost nervously.

"We can go out? If you want?" Abby asks, she shakes her head no. "I'm fine, just gonna stay home and start finalizing my scholarships." She tells her, I give her a look. "I thought you already finished them?" I ask, she shakes her head. "Nope. Just a few more." She says, the bell ringing while she spoke. "Bye guys." We all say simultaneously, walking to class.

"Going to my job site, won't be back until 3rd block. Bye." Joselyn tells me, I wave her off as she walks out the front door of the school.

Joselyn pov

"Are you sure you're okay?" Samantha asks, I nod. "Well, the little kids are noticing that you're sad. So cheer up, buttercup." She says, I put a fake smile on.
