"Al, no." Angel said as calmly as he could as I stubbornly sat on top of the fridge.

"AL YES." I shouted back as I opened my book.

"You're too pregnant."

"Are you saying I'm fat? How dare you." I said, biting back a few choice words. Yes, my bump's size has become a very sensitive topic of conversation. It may be smaller than last time, but I really don't care: I feel fat.

"No, I'm not saying you're fat, I'm saying you could get hurt." Angel sighed as he rubbed the bridge of his small nose. "Please get down."

"No, I'm gonna read my book without Mercy trying to be in my lap." I pouted at him before burying my face in my book.

Mercy toddled up to the bottom of the fridge and looked up at me. I didn't hold her gaze, only taking a glance at her before continuing to read about a German prince who had to dress as a woman to get the man he loved.

"Mercy, your mother is very moody right now, please leave him alone." Angel sighed. "Wanna go play with Uncle Nissy and Auntie Molly?"

"'Kay." Mercy mumbled, taking one of Angel's hands as Angel leaned down to take it and they walked into the living room to play with Molly and Arackniss.

I put my book down, feeling the instant guilt hit me. Mercy's first birthday was in a week and I was supposed to give birth in a month.

And...here's the anxiety and panic that this wasn't gonna go as well as Mercy's birth.

I started to shake slightly as it became harder to breathe. Arackniss watched me with one of his spare eyes. The dark spider got up when I turned invisible again(the baby can sense emotions and this emotion scares it) and I started to make the buzzing radio noises. He approached the fridge, holding his phone and a pair of earbuds.

"Hey, um, Alastor. Do you want me to get you some music to help you calm down? It always helps me..." Arackniss held up his earbuds for me before putting on his calm down mix. "You might be having a panic attack."

I took the earbuds with shaky hands and put them in my ears as life seemed to spiral out of my control and I cried and breathed wrong. Angel watched in silence as Arackniss stood on the counter and tried to help me through my panic attack, knowing that he had no idea how to help me through my rare panic attacks and Arackniss seemed to know what to do.

After ten minutes of that, I did my best to breathe evenly as I listened to the music with Arackniss standing on the counter next to the fridge. I tried to thank him, but I couldn't find my voice yet.

"It's okay, Alastor, you're safe, I promise, everything is gonna be alright." Arackniss whispered as he found my hand and gently took it, rubbing small circles across my knuckles. "Take your time."

I focused on the music, my eyes falling shut as I tried to remember the breathing patterns that Dad had taught me for controlling my temper and anxiety. I sat through three different songs before...

I take my pills and I'm happy all the time, happy all the time, happy all the time~

I love my girl but she ain't worth the price, she ain't worth the price, no, she ain't worth the price~

We take strange things to feel normal, we take strange things to feel normal, we take strange things to feel normal, to feel normal, to feel normal~

I enjoyed the song that was on and my breathing started to regulate itself again. I opened my eyes to find that I was still invisible, but Arackniss was sitting on the counter now, holding the phone up so the earphone jack didn't get yanked out as I listened to the music.

I tried out my voice again.

"Thank you, Arackniss. I really ought to get myself a calm down mix of my own, shouldn't I?" I asked, taking the earbuds out and holding them out for him.

"Yep, you should. But I was happy to help you." Arackniss smiled at me before looking back down at his phone. "Do you want me to buy you a phone or something like that so you can get those songs easier?"

"No, thank you for asking though." I replied simply as my body started to reappear from the feet and hands up this time. "Can you help me off the fridge though, I might be a bit wobbly for a while after my panic attack."

"Sure." Arackniss held out his hands for mine and I took them and slipped down onto the counter before Arackniss jumped down to the floor and held out his hands again. I sat on the counter before sliding off without taking his hands.

It was only the fridge I was worried about getting off of, so I didn't bother and he seemed to accept that with a shrug.

I sat on the couch with a heavy sigh as the baby kicked at my ribs for being panicky and the rest of me appeared.

"You mean little thing, I didn't mean to have that happen." I said tiredly to my bump as the baby continued to kick my ribs. "Stop, why must my ribs be the target. You little kickboxer, you are gonna be a mean little thing that kicks people in the shin because you can."

"Ooh, that bad, huh?" Pentious asked as he messed with a rubix cube and a few power tools.

"You have no idea..." I sighed. "Mercy wasn't this violent and she's the one who killed three rats yesterday and left them on the bar for Husk. Needless to say, Husk had fried rats for dinner while the rest of us had cheap Chinese takeout." I put a hand on my belly.

"Hmmmm... I might ask Husk for their recipe for fried rats, it sounds lovely." Pen mumbled before testing the mechanism he had put on the rubix cube.

"You do that, buddy. Are you making a box for something special?" I asked, looking at the rubix cube as it flipped open to reveal a padded base with a slit in it for a ring, I assumed.

"For someone special, not something. This is a wedding ring box." Pentious whispered in my ear. "I'm planning on proposing to Nissy indirectly."

"Can he solve a rubix cube?" I asked.

"Yep, he showed me that he memorized how to do it and can do it in a minute or less." Pen replied as he showed me a ring with gold inside the band on black silver. "This is the ring."

"That's beautiful. When are you doing it?" I asked.

"Um... I was thinking this Thursday." Pen admitted. "That's the only day both of us have off for the next several weeks. The rest of our days off won't line up until next month."

"Sounds like a plan." I said with a small smile as Angel walked up and sank into the couch next to me.

"I'm sorry I was a little mean, Al." Angel said, looking dejected as he sat several inches away.

"It's okay, dumbass, come get your cuddles." I said with a look of slight annoyance that he wasn't cuddling me. Angel curled around me and started to make soft humming noises as he traced my cheeks and lips. Mercy came running up to me, almost tripping on her way, with a rock that Molly had helped her paint and dry. She handed it to me before climbing onto the couch and hugging onto my bump to babble at me, Angel, and her little sibling.
