It was around 1:45 AM when Crystal finished the files, she looked up to see Hotch on his last one.
"That's all of the files Agent Hotchner, let's head out now." Hotch nodded as he put the last of the files on his desk and then stood up, "Thank you for staying behind to help Agent Archer, you didn't have to."
Crystal and Hotch headed towards the elevator and he pushed the button, "No need to thank me Agent Hotchner, I'm glad you didn't have to stay here late to finish them all by yourself. I should be thanking you though, you helped me escape for at least one more night from having a chat with my family about me working here."
The door opened and Hotch let her step in first, "You'll have to confront them sooner or later." Crystal pushed the button, "I think I'll do it later." Crystal smiled and Hotch gave her a small one, "You're a capable Agent and profiler, I'm sure you'll be able to get through to them."
They stood in the elevator in silence, Crystal knew Hotch was right. It's better to take the situation head on instead of trying to avoid it, so she should probably text her mom she's on her way home. The elevator doors opened and they stepped off.
Crystal: On my way home
Mom: Great!
Crystal: Who's coming to pick me up?
Mom: Just drive home sweetie, you have a car?
Crystal: You mean the car that you took my keys for? I had Jason drive me today?
Crystal: MOM?
Crystal sighed, of course her family forgot. She blames her mom though, she was the one who took her keys away. "Is there a problem Agent?" Crystal looked up at Hotch, "It's nothing, have a good night Agent Hotchner."
Crystal started to walk away, "Agent Archer is there a reason why you aren't heading to the parking lot?" Of course he would notice, Crystal should've made sure Hotch left first so he wouldn't be suspicious.
"I'll be fine Agent Hotchner, have a good night."
"Do you need a ride?"
"I'm sure one of my idiot brothers will be here soon."
"How far do you live from the BAU?"
"It's not that far."
"Then I'll take you home." Crystal looked at Hotch with widen eyes, "That's not necessary-"
"I insist, it can be my way to thank you for helping me and staying late."
"I live 30 minutes away Agent Hotchner, I couldn't ask you to-"
"You're not asking, I'm offering."
"I wouldn't want to trouble you, you're probably tired and want to go home."
"It's a yes or no answer Agent Archer, you must be tired as well." Crystal smiled at his way of mocking her before, Hotch offered her a smile.
What am I supposed to do? Say no to that smile?
"Thank you Agent Hotchner, I appreciate your generosity. If I didn't know better I would say you're trying to quote me from before." Crystal followed Hotch to the parking lot, "Well it's a good thing you know better then." He stated with a ghost of a smile and Crystal gave a small laugh. He opened her car door, after she was inside he closed it and headed to his side.

Crystal told Hotch her apartment address and they were on their way, she sent a text to her mother to let her know she found a ride.
