Avie's Pov

"We have a case" seryosong sabi ko kay Chris.

Bumuntong hininga naman siya, sumandal sa upuan at i-pinagkrus ang kanyang mga kamay. "What case?"

"Case of the missing gifts"

Umiling naman siya at uminom ng juice. "Boring. Not interested. Those are just gifts. Like hell I care!" malamig na sabi niya.

Napa smirk naman ako. "I knew you'd say that" 

Tinaasan naman niya ako ng kilay. "So?"

"What if I told you that kids were also missing? Would you be interested?" I asked.

Pinanliitan naman niya ako ng mga mata. "Why didn't you say so? Let's go" pag-aya niya.

Nauna siyang tumayo at agad na hinila ako papalabas ng kainan.

Naglalakad na kami papalabas ng mall nang makasalubong namin si Akhaya.

"Hi Akhaya!" I greeted.

Akhaya smiled at me. "Oh hi Avie, Chris" he said. "Happy birthday pala Avie. Anyway, uuwi na ba kayo?" he asked.

I thanked him first for greeting me before I answered. "Tumawag si detective sa akin and he said na meron raw case na dapat isolve. Would you like to join us?" I asked.

Agad naman na tumango siya. "Sure, that is if he dont mind?" he said as he glanced at Chris.

Chris shook his head. "I don't mind at all. 3 brains are better than one"

Pagkatapos ay sumakay na kaming tatlo sa sasakyan, at nagdrive na si Chris papunta sa address na ibinigay sa akin ni detective Cross.

Tahimik lang kaming bumabyahe hanggang sa magsalita si Akhaya. "What case is it anyway?" He asked.

"Case of the missing gifts and kids" I said.

Tumango naman si Akhaya. "We're about to solve a case so is it really okay for you to wear that dress while solving it? I mean, we'd end up looking for those kids so maybe you won't feel comfortable with that outfit" Akhaya said.

Tumingin naman sa akin si Chris. "Avie, if you're not comfortable, maybe we could buy some comfortable clothes for you----" I cut him off.

"I'm fine with this outfit" I said and smiled at them. "Thank you for your concern" sabi ko pa at tumingin sa unahan.

"About the case....." I started.

"Tell us" sabay na sabi nilang dalawa.

"Two families was conducting an event or a charity which they call Gift from the heart. They were conducting it in an orphanage full of kids"

"So, those orphan kids were the one that went missing?" Chris asked.

Umiling naman ako sa kanya. "No. Four kids went missing. And they were the children of those two families" I explained.

"Have they tried looking for them?" Akhaya asked.

I shrugged my shoulders. "I don't  know but detective told me that both parents from the two family received a paper with a message written on it"

Napahawak naman si Akhaya sa kanyang baba. "Interesting. Let me guess, hindi pa nakakalagpas ng 24 hours na nawawala ang mga bata kaya tinawagan ka ni Detective para isolve ang case?"

I nodded.

"Might be a boring case for me. Instead of solving that case, I'd rather---" pinutol ko na ang sasabihin ni Chris.
