She came running to me and hugged me,
Hugging her always ignited all my senses.
I always wanted to pull her closer into the embrace,
But, My fairly logical mind, controlled my paces.
"Kit! I am so happy. You know what happened today?"
She said, still in my arms, looking above to meet my eyes.
"What?" I asked reluctantly.
All I wanted to do,
Was kiss her soft pink lips and
Make her know, my love for her.
And feel her like she is me,
A stashed part of me which wanted fusion,
With the rest of me.
"Remember my crush Nik from college, who joined as an intern with me in my firm?"
"He asked me out" She chirped prancing.
If my heart was made of glass,
She could have heard it break apart.
If my flesh was made of ice,
She could have witnessed me melt away.
I had lost...
Yet again!
But before anything, she was my friend.
So, to stop her from seeing my agony in tears,
I just held her again.
"You are happy, I am happy,
I hope, Hope, He keeps you that way."
